Tommy Coster Jr. is a keyboardist, Producer/Composer living in the Los Angeles area. He plays on records, film soundtracks, TV commercials, film trailers and film scores. He has performed live on Saturday Night live with Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Dido. He's done some brief touring but prefers to stay in town working in his studio.
Tommy has composed music for many artists of all styles and eras. His first co-write, Zulu , was with Carlos Santana at the age of 11. He received his first gold record as a result of this collaboration by the age of 12. He co-wrote and co-produced 2 Contemporary Jazz records with his father, Tom Coster which charted in the Billboard top 10, and also produced 3 Fusion Jazz records for him. These records encompassed such musician as Dennis Chambers, Michael Brecker, Mark Isham, Steve Smith, Will Kennedy, Frank Gambale, Scott Henderson, Randy Jackson, Alfonso Johnson, Tim Landers, Bob Berg, Bob Malach, Dean Brown, Raul Rekow, Karl Perazzo, Sheila E., Steve Cardenes and Jeff Andrews to name a few.
Tommy later met Dr. Dre through Dennis Chambers which lead to many urban based projects. The first one being the "Marshall Mathers LP." He co-wrote and performed on 6 tracks including "The Real Slim Shady." 20 million records later found himself co-writing with Dre again not knowing that "Heat," one of the tracks he and Dre had co-written one day, would end up on 50 Cent's first record, "Get Rich or Die Tryin'."
Tommy's urban roots and love for scoring were about to payoff. He began to score small independent films for, Miramax, Xenon Pictures, Steven Seagal, and Snoop, and create cinematic intros for various tracks that Dr. Dre was producing. He has created intros for, "Chin Check," "Stan" for the Elton John Eminem Grammy performance, the intro for Game's "How We Do" video along with musical score for the "Up In Smoke" and "Anger Management" tours.
Film trailer companies began to call Tommy for original music for various films. He wrote original music for, "Serving Sara," "The New Guy," "Barbershop 2," "Dumber Than Dirt," "Chasing Papi," "Freaky Friday," "Little Black Book," "The Honeymooners," "Roll Bounce," "Underclassman," "Stormbreakers," and "I Think I Love My Wife."
Tommy has scored a handful of independent films over the years and recently had the opportunity to work on "Miami Vice" with Michael Mann. He was asked to score 4 cues while they were in production to help with the musical direction of the film in these 4 sections of the film.
Tommy is currently working on a film as associate producer and composer called Klunkerz with director Billy Savage.
Award-winning composer and multi-instrumentalist John Krogh has written music for a wide range advertising, TV, film, and new media clients. Specializing in creating rich, compelling underscore and evocative textural palettes of sound, John’s passion lies in combining his creative and technical talents in support of “good work.†It doesn’t matter the format, whether it’s a low-budget short, a corporate branding video, or a national advertising campaign, John’s aim isn’t just to get the job done, but to deliver excellence.
John’s music-production background is as deep as it is diverse. From a stint as the keyboard player and co-songwriter for alt-country darlings Big Blue Hearts (Geffen/Interscope), to remixing artists such as Supreme Beings of Leisure (Palm records) and the Fixx (MCA), and touring the globe with legendary rock and pop icons (Whitney Houston, The Eagles, Don Henley, Roger Waters of Pink Floyd, and Jennifer Lopez), John has covered more musical territory than most.
In 2007, John was awarded two Tellys; one for music he composed for a national broadcast :60 (American Cancer society, Relay for Life), and another for his score to The Rainforest Action Network, a documentary written and produced by Sundance award-winning director Mark Decena.
