Depends on the day. Try me.
I'll listen to anything once, tho I'm picky in my own way, and I do love my music. Couldn't pick a favorite...
In no particular order:
Juno Reactor, Ani Difranco, Postal Service, Pietasters, Violent Femmes, Built to Spill, Fugazi, Gorillaz, Weezer, Rancid, Tori Amos, The Cure, Ben Harper, Nappy Roots, Jeff Buckley, Outkast, Bob Dylan, Beatles, Bob Marley, Travis, Cake, Poe...I miss our dear departed Macha.
Mostly I choose from song to song. There's some great ambient out there - I love listening to that when I'm studying, which is often. I'd kill to see The Pixies live in concert.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Amelie, Delicatessen, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Rosencrantz and Gildenstern are Dead, Grosse Point Blank, Kill Bill 1&2, Reservoir Dogs, The Usual Suspects, The Big Lebowski, Boondock Saints, all the Monty Python movies, Ordinary Decent Criminals, Bringing Out the Dead, V for Vendetta, The Magic Christian, Big Fish, The Lord of the Rings, Princess Bride, The Labyrinth, Kung Fu Hustle; BORAT!!!
That's evil voodeedoo mind-manipulating crap.
(Okay, so CSI Las Vegas and House both get my vote...also much of Adult Swim, old Saturday Night Live, and Reno 911.)
Anything Neil Gaiman, Nick Bantock, Christopher Moore, or Douglas Adams. Long-time Tolkien fan, C.S. Lewis when I was younger -- I'd like to reread his Chronicles of Narnia. Ishmael, by Daniel Quinn; Stranger in a Strange Land...Wicked, by Gregory Mcquire, and Son of a Witch... Joseph Campbell - deceased professor of myth - check out Metaphor as Myth and as Religion. I love Neil Gaiman's Sandman series and his novels. Phillip Pullman's Dark Materials; Mark Twain, of course - especially Letters from the Earth. Favorite Play: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, by Tom Stoppard. There was a movie done of that with Gary Oldman and Tim Roth that I wish I could find again. Currently reading House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski.
Joseph Campbell, Mark Twain, CS Lewis, JRR Tolkien, Ani Difranco, Jane Goodall, Niki Giovanni, Albert Einstein, Nick Bantock, Georgia O'keefe, Guerrilla Girls, Will Shakespeare, the Bronte sisters, Douglas Adams, Steven Chung, Robin Williams, Jim Henson, Alphonse Mucha, Birute Gildikas, and the like, Gary Larson, Neil Gaiman, Bill Waterson, Jonathan Ian Mathers...and lest I forget, my mother, Margaret Powell; and my best friend in this life to-date (if not in other lives as well,) my Jenny.
