Introducing "Wide Open Wednesdays," a live music showcase, featuring a variety of killer talent! Find us @ the hippest joint in town, THE EXPERI-MENTAL CAFE.
Every Wednesday from 7pm until midnight (yes, midnight!)
We're on the lookout for musicians (solo or band) of all genres, stand-up comedians, and spoken word artists! Tell all your friends that this is the place to be on Wednesdays, or any day of the week!
If you'd like to book some on-stage time, just send us a message or leave a comment - and we'll let you know when you're booked! Piece of cake. As in really awesome chocolate cake served at our cafe.
THE BASIC LOWDOWN:
+ Sign-ups are ONLINE ONLY! More specifically, through this profile.
+ Make sure you have some tracks handy for us to listen to! On your myspace profile is best, but you can also send us Mp3 links, or website links to where we can hear your stuff!
+ While it's true that there is a casual Open Mic "feel" to Wide Open Wednesday nights... it is a well-organized showcase for the artists. We expect punctual, professional, talented performers to grace our stage!
+ All artists will have a full 30-minute set! That sums up a total of 6 to 8 performers every freakin week! If you are a full band, please be courteous to other performers, and be prepared to set up + break down as quickly & efficently (and SAFELY!) as you can.
+ For now, there is no set pay for performing artists [on wednesdays]unless otherwise mentioned. Do it for the music! But yes! Feel free to bring promo materials and CD's to sell! You can even bring flyers for gigs @ other venues. It is all good @ the Experimental! If a performer brings a significantly big following, then I will "tip the band out" as Pete says!
The Experi-mental Cafe is located at The Woolworth Building Deli & Lunch Counter in Downtown Oxnard. It is one element of our 60's Inspired Cafe concept featuring delectable gourmet sandwiches, exquisitely designed mouth watering salads, aperitive appetizers and High Voltage Coffee!
