About Me

Hi! Welcome to my page.
I chose the username Music Gal because music has played an extremely important role in my life since I was very young. I've been an avid listener and collector of music since my early grade school years.
I was born and raised in Virginia, but recently fulfilled a life-long dream and relocated to southern California. I am married to a wonderful guy and am "Mom" to 4 cats.

My Interests

Music is my primary interest, and I enjoy all aspects of it including collecting, listening, reading artists' biographies and watching documentaries, and attending live performances when possible. It is always a pleasure to discover new artists, and in recent years I have become acquainted with a lot of great music through the recommendations of friends.

I am involved in several music-related message boards, and have gotten acquainted with some really great people over the years, several of whom I have been fortunate to meet in person.

I'm also interested in graphic design and am thinking of possibly getting into the field. I also love to draw, but have neglected it in recent years...hope to pick it up again.

I also love to travel, and hope to achieve my goal of having visited all the U.S. states and Canadian provinces within the next 5 years or so. Hopefully one of these days I'll get the opportunity to go to the United Kingdom and visit some of the great Beatles historical spots like the Cavern Club and Abbey Road (I've always wanted to have my picture taken on that crosswalk!)

I'd like to meet:

I would love to meet Brian Wilson and Paul McCartney someday. Their music has meant so much to me over the years. I have had the opportunity to meet a few favorite artists of mine, which has been awesome but there are more I hope to meet sometime in the future.

I enjoy meeting and chatting with people, especially those with mutual interests.

Music:

I'm a huge fan of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys. Brian's music has deeply inspired me and helped me get through some very difficult times, and I have been fortunate to see him and his band perform live on 6 occasions, most recently the Pet Sounds Anniversary performance at Long Beach, CA. I'm also an avid Beatles fan, having first gotten seriously into their music as a high school senior in 1986, and was able to catch Ringo in concert this past summer!

My taste in music tends to run more to the pop/jazz side, but I do enjoy a great rocker as well. Some of my other favorite artists:
