...but I haven't got any stamps!

About Me

My name is Ashes. I want to say something about myself, but I feel like I've covered pretty much everything about myself already on my page and in my blogs. You can probably learn a lot by looking at the groups I'm in too. One thing I do want to say, though, is that I'm here to make friends (most especially with Beatle Peedles as mentioned further down my page) and to discover great musicians. My intentions are not to use MySpace as a dating service.Starting with the summer of 2007 I will be attending a university for the first time. I've been in community colleges since I graduated high school, and I've been called up to the big leagues now. Wish me luck! I should gruaduate at the end of 2008 with a 4-year degree. Well, my interests and favorites are listed. It seems to me like there's nothing left to say, so having said that, be sure to take a good look around! Oh, and feel free to leave me a voice comment!:
"Hey, my groovies...and most especially the Beatle people of the world. Leave me a [voice comment] message."

My Interests

Well, I was named Mrs. Lennon by my friends when I was only like 7 years old (because I had already loved him for at least 5 years by then -- seriously) and I still of course love that nickname, so I guess that explains my main interest :-) Speaking of "Mrs. Lennon," my other nicknames include "Ashes" of course...Popeye, AL, Ashwee, Ashlinkiedoo (or just Linkie), Janet Wood, Angelina, Nickel, Eggplant, Bungo, Adriana, Lizzie, Mija, Sissy, Hair, Neecha, and there are countless others I'll add if I think of them. Music has always been my passion, but I enjoy listening to it and learning the history of it (names and dates) more than making it myself. I only play guitar to myself and for fun. I pretty much like anything artistic such as dance, photography, poetry, fashion, and of course art. I love to go to concerts! I follow Three Dog Night to as many shows as I can, and try to see as many concerts I can get to!What else do I love? Well, I don't like to shop unless it's for awesome vintage things. I looove vintage style! I love football, baseball, and basketball. I love movies and television. My favorite thing of all is trivia, especially Beatles/music trivia! Games are fun too, of course. I love my friends/family/loved ones, and all of the traditions and memories I've got. I'll have to add more later...

I'd like to meet:

I hardly consider myself "a fan” of The Beatles. A fan is typically someone who enjoys the music and admires someone's musical ability...but I care more for them as people than anything. I love them as much as the people that are in my life...because they ARE in my life! They've always been there for me when I needed them and never fail to make everything better. When people ask me who my favorite artist is, my answer is obviously The Beatles, but they're SOOOOO much more than that...and only other REAL fanatics understand. Also, when people ask me that, I answer "John, Paul, George, and Ringo." I don't like them just as a group. I love them ALL. I always say, "If they were four people with no connection to one another, I would still have a four-way tie for who I think is the best person and artist of all-time. I don't love John, Paul, George, and Ringo because they were The Beatles. I love the Beatles because they were John, Paul, George, and Ringo."I say that because many people say things like, "I don't really like so-and-so, but since he was a Beatle he's cool." They're all EQUALS in my opinion. It amazes me that the four greatest guys just happened to all perform together for nearly a decade. We are all so blessed to have had them, and the fact that their musical masterpieces were only some of many gifts we got from these four legends...WOW...I'd also like to add that there is a big difference between having a favorite Beatle and not believing they're equals. John is my personal favorite, but I don't think he's better than the other three. Different things appeal to different people, so we're all attracted to a favorite, you know? The most amazing thing of all, though, is that my generation, the two or three generations before mine, and maybe only two generations after mine are the only people since the beginning of time (and will be all the way through the end of time) that can say they were even ALIVE at the same time as a Beatle!I feel blessed enough to think that I was around when three of them were here and born only three years too late to say that about the fourth one. I'm not just saying this because I've been lucky enough to see Paul and Ringo in concert multiple times, but I'm lucky enough to even have that CHANCE!Anyone would be a fool to miss out. I'd like to meet Beatle Peedles. You can never have enough ;-)

Music:

I am a music lover! I appreciate all music...as long as it is actually music. It's not as easy to find actual music these days in the mainstream, but it's out there...and MySpace has given me hope too because I've found many groovy artists on here! Generally, I love everything that came before I was born and things started going downhill after that. There are exceptions, but not many :-( (As Far as MySpace goes, I have some really gear bands/artists in my friends pages, so go check them out...but then I have some music pages in my friends only because they're nice, friends of mine, or Beatles fans. I hope that's not mean of me to admit...) SOME of my favorite music in no particular order: JPGR (all & everything) / Three Dog Night / Led Zeppelin / Elvis Presley / Joe Bonamassa / Jimi Hendrix / Jeff Beck / Janis Joplin / Taylor Hicks / Buddy Guy / Marvin Gaye / The Guess Who / Al Green / Howlin' Wolf / James Gang / Grand Funk Railroad / The Grateful Dead / Billie Holiday / Lightnin' Hopkins / Louis Armstrong / Ella Fitzgerald / The Hollies / Jethro Tull / Elton John / Etta James / B.B.
