WHY THE POLICE ARE THE ENEMY?? Maybe because there is no civilian review board with the power to subpoena officers charged with crimes such as assult and battery or even murder. Why haven't any of the abusive cops in Las Vegas been charged with the crime of murder for any of the unjust killings they have committed in the past 35 years? Killing a young man on the strip because his music was too loud? Shooting an unarmed 17yr old in the back while he was handcuffed??? Because you say he was running? THESE ARE CRIMES... STOP POLICE BRUTALITY AND DEFEND YOURSELF AND YOUR COMMUNITY BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!!!
.. About the above video: On Nov 11 2005 TC Armstrong was beaten into a coma by Denver Police. Expected to die, Denver Copwatch and Armstrong's Family protested frequently in the first days. TC finally came out of a coma on Thanksgiving. (In this video clip, Copwatch and Armstrongs family have just held a press conference at the intersection where the beating occurred. Earl Armstrong, Tc's brother brought forward a witness who gave testimony as to what she saw that night. Following the protest the witness pointed out two detectives pretending to be reporters. When posing to be good guys, Earl makes an important point. The police are never on the side of justice when investigating incidents of police brutality. Period Point Blank.) The Armstrong Familiy is still seeking justice in this attack. ....THE ONLY REAL ANSWER TO POLICE BRUTALITY ....

powered by BREAKDOWN FM & ODEOA s we come to the close of this year we wanted to leave you with some words of wisdom on some very important topics. Recently there was a panel discussion held in Houston where they talked about the topics of Hip Hop and Religion and Hip Hop and Leadership. Among the panelists were Poet Saul Williams and Activist Troy Nkrumah of the National Hip Hop Political Convention. Both Saul and Troy gave excellent analysis and food for thought on the intersection between Hip Hop and Religion. As you listen to the discussion , the first speaker you will hear is Saul Williams who grew up as a preacher's son. He notes that the first people he ever saw wearing bling and driving cars with big rims were church folks. He also talks about mysogony in Hip Hop as well as the church. The second speaker to address this issue is Troy Nkrumah of the Hip Hop Political Convention. He drops some powerful gems about the real purpose of religion-being a tool of liberation. He questions why today's church leaders aren't out in the streets dealing directly with folks. He challenges people to really be 'religious' and emulate the ways of Jesus, Malcolm and Martin and go out and be liberators.Next we hear Saul Williams responding to an audience question about the role of gangsta rap. He talks about how gangsta rap started out being anti-establishment and somehow got compromised. He likens today's gangsta rappers to Republicans because of their approach toward people and money.Troy Nkrumah follows Saul by addressing an audience member about leadership and Hip Hop. He asks why are so many of us looking for rap starts to be our leaders when in reality many of them DO NOT care about us. All they wanna do is sell us records. with a bristling breakdown about Rappers and leadership. he feels that rappers ARE NOT leaders and we should stop looking to them to get us out of our present conditions.

FREE THE ANGOLA.. FREE ALL POLITICAL PRISONERS .. width="425" height="350" ....The Las Vegas Local Organizing Committee (LV-LOC) of National Hip Hop Political Convention (NHHPC):
Is the first and only organization in Las Vegas, NV that addresses the needs and concerns of the local Hip Hop community. We are a political organization that fights for Social Justice and Self Determination. We use Hip Hop culture as a binding force to mobilizing and engage young people on a grassroots level. Our goal is to develop and seek the implementation of a national and local agenda. We are one of twenty LOC chapters nationally.
Nationally? The NHHPC can be found doing work in all the major U.S. citys including San Juan, Puerto Rico. Since our origin, the NHHPC has registered over 250,000 voters nationwide. Our efforts have resulted in both electing politicians as well as defeating them. Our members can be found in all walks of life including; lawyers, doctors, politicians, teachers, professors, artists and entertainers.
The History of the NHHPC
In the spring of 2003, a group of activists, artists, educators, entrepreneurs, journalists and civic leaders from the Hip Hop Generation began gathering to develop a plan to funnel the political and cultural power of the hip hop generation into mainstream political activities. Out of those meetings came the idea for the National Hip Hop Political Convention, a bi-annual event that would bring together delegates from all over the country to develop, endorse and vote on a political agenda for the Hip Hop Generation, and act as training ground to identify and support local, state and national leadership to implement that agenda. The work of the NHHPC is grounded in the following: Grassroots Activism, Civic Education, Economic Self Determination, Voter Participation and Cultural Inspiration....
