You ever read Eckhart? He said the only thing that burns in Hell is the part of you that won’t let go of your life. Your memories, your attachments. They burn them all away. But they’re not punishing you, he said. They’re freeing your soul. So…if you’re frightened of dying, and you’re holding on, you’ll see devils tearing your life away. But, if you’ve made your peace, then the devils are really angels, freeing you from the earth. It’s just a matter of how you look at it, that’s all. — Louis, in Jacob’s Ladder
"The whole dilemma of the human condition is a fear and avoidance of the unknown or emptiness. It is also the habit if identifying with thoughts born in time and not allowing oneself to be here now. We identify ourselves through our effort, conflict and pain. We identify ourselves through our thoughts of the past and our dreams of the future. And we are heavily invested in these identities." Ellen, 2001

THE Pharmacratic Inquisition- If then, we project the Cumran forward in time and place from the Dead Sea Scrolls to the New Testiment, we can see a clear line of Theological Speculation which transformed an exclusive Jewish secratarianism into an hellanistic mystery religeon of all men- Jew or Gentile bond or free. But the kind of Christianity we arrived at is that NOT of a faith committed to the historicity of Jesus and the Gospel tradition. And the imposition of a single Canon and a tyranical creed, but to that Gnostic "heresy" whose essential individualism was so abhorred by the so-called great church and which became the target of a persecution no less great then that of the movements first political and religeous enemies. And to judge from the Church's subsequent history as well as the illegitimacy of lots claims to primacy... One cant help feeling that the wrong side won-in memeory of John Marco Allegro
