Writing novels, watching bands, slagging off Stereophonics in print for lovely lovely cash, DJing, internet poker, collecting rejection letters from literary agents, getting hideously drunk and viciously competetive at pop quizes, filling in internet questionaires about myself
Gig mates, wine experts, entertainment junkies, literary sponges, Derek Acorah, groovy hep cats in general and people who, like me, live in constant fear of the all-green packet of wine gums. A nonchalant air around indie musicians' flats and the ability to make a living as a professional Melissa Auf Der Maur impersonator a distinct advantage.Note to bands: I'm only adding bands I know personally on here so unless you can tell me my REAL first name you've no chance. Anyway, really dig what you guys are doing and you look awesome but I'd make it more Klaxons if I were you and that drummer has to go.

'The Indiest Man That Ever Lived', they say, and they're not wrong. Today I'm all about Tilly And The Wall, The Little Ones, The Twang, Neutral Milk Hotel and Bright Eyes, but cut me and I'll bleed Pixies, Magnetic Fields, Spiritualized, Strokes, My Bloody Valentine, Hard-Fi, Bowie, Smiths, Suede, Kaiser Chiefs, Hot Chip, The Kooks, The Upper Room, Giant Drag, Super Furry Animals, The Automatic, Captain, Clap Yopur Hands Say Yeah!, The Holloways, Howling Bells, The Rakes, Kirsty McColl, Arctic Monkeys, Libertines, Killers, Bravery, Maximo Park, The Paddingtons, Klaxons, Hope Of The States, Futureheads, Clash, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Franz, Muse, Blur, Outkast, PJ Harvey, Pulp, QOTSA, Red House Painters, Soulwax, ELO, The Sights, Stars, Weezer, Talking Heads, Radio Dept., Postal Service, Morrissey, This Mortal Coil, Razorlight, Regina Spektor, Flaming Lips, Rufus Wainwright, Elvis Costello, Bloc Party, Sufjan Stevens, 80's Matchbox B-Line Disaster, Sleepy Jackson, Tindersticks, Sparklehorse, Velvet Underground, Go! Team, Gorkys, Grandaddy, Hidden Cameras, Hot Hot Heat, J&MC, LCD Soundsystem, Magic Numbers, Kings Of Leon, !!!, The Arcade Fire, Ash, Beatles, Wedding Present, Ben Folds, Blondie, Brendan Benson, Breeders, Zutons, Wire and - mock if you wish, fools - Peter Gabriel. Oh, and just realised I should put The Charlatans on here pretty sharpish. Hello Tim.
Try to see pretty much everything without Jim Carey in it. Big on Tarantino, Woody Allen, that dead bloke what did 'A Space Odyssey', 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest', 'Crash' (the new one) and the first 'Alien' (the rest were dross). Sucker for scary movies being, at heart, probably something of a big girl.
Most Haunted, Mighty Boosh, anything even vaguely involving Chris Morris, Simpsons (like, OBVIOUSLY), stand-up shows, League Of Gentlemen, property programmes from 5 years ago that make me feel like I might one day be able to afford a house, Late Night Poker, anything I might be on and trashy Saturday night zombie telly when I'm hungover.
Coupland, Easton Ellis, Ballard, McEwan, Amis, Eggers, Faulkner, O'Connor, Dickens, Greene and best of all, John Hawkes 'The Lime Twig'. Absolutely nothing by anybody off the TV, EVER.
Try not to have any of these, because then you meet them and they smell funny. If pushed: Kevin Shields. Changes music as often as he changes his kecks. Assuming he changes his kecks about once a decade.
