Coming at you every month from The Old Queens Head in Islington is "Oh, Inverted World"! A hot new night of band showcases, DJs, drinkin', dancing and some of the finest nights you can have with your pants on!
Hell, we've only gone and lined up the following unmissable acts for the next Oh, Inverted World on October 14th!
Topping the bill are THE NEW YORK FUND , a band with the dirty rock sensibilities of a band brought up in the deep south but with the charm of their Glasweigan heritage, they're a band on the rise having played a plethora of festivals over the summer including Glastonbury, T in The Park and V Festival. One of the best live bands around, we'd recommend you come see why. But then we would wouldn't we?
Jessica Davies and Katherine Blamire are the duo that make up the wonderful SMOKE FAIRIES a folky duo with mystical bluesy overtones. They have a moving and almost mournful sound, but one that is guaranteed to draw you in with their sultry ways. I've also just learnt that the girls have been planning to form a band since they were at school together aged 11. They took their name from mythical 'smoke fairies' who would arise from the mist to confuse the drivers on the roads near where they grew up. Cool!

Paris band Sourya are an electronic, ambient bit of loveliness. They come across like a nouvelle Serge Gainsbourg and sing songs about cheese and Stockholm. Definitely worth checking out.
Kicking off the night will be LOYAL TROOPER , a singer-songwriter from North London otherwise known as Andy Walker. He's self-releasing his debut album in October and is definitely a young new talent to look out for.p>
Expect the usual merriment, possibility of cake, drunken promoters and some fine, fine tunes being spun from our main man Rad!o Ed!t along with soon-to-be legends Pirates In Love .
