About Me

Hi! This profile exists because we feel there is a need to inform people that live in the Portland Maine area that you can recycle almost everything! And its so darn easy to do now. If you live elsewhere in the southern Maine area just check your towns homepage.... Chances are that they are doing this too! This site will explain the procedures of recycling in the greater portland area and what few items are still considered "no-no's" to throw in your recycle bin. Be sure to look at the pics for more information packed goodness. There is an excellent article by Karen Beaudoin from SWITCH magazine about the new single sort system. It is on the left hand side under "Books" for the time being. (SERIOUSLY... READ IT. YOU"LL BE GLAD YOU DID!) Or read it at the following address:http://www.themaineswitch.com/story/view/794/ *********************************************************** This site is also just to promote recycling in general wherever you are located. Please stay tuned..................................
