give me the green light to get on with my life, pick up the pieces then roll the fucking dice

About Me

(Written 6/12/08) Life is better than ever. I have almost stopped smoking, I'm taking the train to work, and now I send less of my money to already-rich white people! Bergeron and I are doing great, I've co-promoted my first gig in almost 3 years with the lovely ladies at Double Wide (Riverboat Gamblers, May 2008, there's more to come), and my sales gig which initially made me sick every time I drove to work, has turned out to be a fantastic spot for me. My daughter Niki turns 16 this year and is one of the smartest, prettiest kids you'll ever meet. It sucks that she'll hit 16 about the time gas is at $5.00 / gallon, but hey, mass transit isn't so bad.
Oh, and I'm off to a good start towards a 3rd year of profitable poker. Although I play WAY less than before, (I have tried to reprioritize my priorities), my profits are still good enough to get me out of some debt I've accumulated over the years.
I think I am getting my life headed into a better direction, and my karma indicator is out of the red. I've lost some friends due to my being an unbearable asshole at times, some will never return I'm sure, but to those of you that have stuck with me through drugs, ego, and burnout, you have all my love. -SB, 6/12/08, FLT suckas!
(This is old, but still applies)I'm a VERY proud father and have somehow scored an incredible girlfriend who puts up with all my shi...ok, shenanigans. I am a bit of a misanthrope, punk rocker, skinhead (but not a racist), proud Marine (YAT YAS!), bareback bronc rider, and a student of the game of poker.I love my dogs, Angus (Mustard, Nugget, Buddy) and Frances (Pickle).I believe in honor, integrity, loyalty, honesty, karma, and hard work. I think the ability to laugh at one's self is necessary to maintain sanity. I don't trust our government, and I trust the religious right even less. I believe in the reformation of our failed drug policy. I think it is our DUTY to pass on to the younger generations the knowledge they will need to survive. I fear total universal implosion, but what scares me more is the idea that mankind will destroy itself long before natural forces fix us.I left the concert biz in 9/06 due to bad timing, a few bad (if not regrettable) decisions, and ultimately, a lack of bankroll to effectively promote the caliber of concerts I was fortunate enough to book. A bar fight between 2 assholes at Gypsy Tea Room had nothing to do with my decision to take a break.YAT YAS!!!...I'd be 100% Texan if I'd voted for Bush and believed women came from the jawbone of an ass. Or something like that. ;)
You Are 84% Texas

Lee Greenwood is a tool

Why aren't today's bands saying this?  In theory, times of political upheaval bring better, smarter music.  This song was written over 20 years ago, but I think you can see the parallels to ...
