About Me

Greetings...Grace & Peace to you... ***********************************************
My Navajo clan (below) for my fellow Navajos:

Kotao Dine nishli.

***********************************************
I'm a woman adorned with Grace thru Christ Jesus - I am learning & growing to be defined only in the Light of God's Word, His truth to me...what a journey! I also don't mind sharing (and reading) personal stories of my walk with Christ, as it allows me to connect my journey with others. ~ I am, after all, a lady in process ~ A lady on a pilgrimage to know God thru Christ~! I am Accepted and Beloved by the Greatest and Amazing Love I will ever know...Jesus Christ of Nazareth
I am Native American-Navajo - born & raised on the western Navajo reservation. I left my ancestral homeland to follow a childhood dream when I was 18. I joined the USAF and met and now married to my wonderful and amazing Texan man for the past 19 years - the end of this year will be 20 years. I love his Southern accent w/ a twist of Texan drawl - SEXY! My hubby is a retired military man (USAF)-20 years (I met him while I served in the USAF - my active service: 4.5 yrs), I am also a "retired" USAF wife. Life as a military wife is not at all easy, but...it's over with.

My Interests

~
My general interest lies in embracing Grace thru Christ each day and enjoying all that I can in life with my little family of three!

(Soaring on Eagle's Wings)
As a Native American Christian (non-denomination), my Life verse has been: Isaiah 40:31
"But they that hope upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint."

I'd like to meet:

~ Those who love Jesus - my family in Christ...spiritual family !
AND family members who share the same mitochondrial DNA as myself through our Navajo mother's clan - the Bitterwater clan. Any Navajo, or other Native American Christians!

Miguel Martinez art (below), Taos, New Mexico...My daughter and I are enamored with his art.

My dream... My Passion is to take a trip to Jerusalem and stand before the Western Wall - thankfully, there is a place for women. Shortly after surrendering to Christ nearly 8 years ago, I have yearned to pray and stand at the Western Wall -- the Wailing Wall. I, too, would love to tuck my prayer into that wall. What a dream that would be. My heart aches to be there.

About the Lily flower (to believers):
A lily is white and very beautiful; within it are seven grains or seeds, of the color of gold, so amiable that our Saviour saith, “That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.” For whiteness it exceeds all flowers.

Music:

Our teen plays many musical instruments. I enjoy listening to her play the six-string bass guitar, practicing on the piano, and playing the Navajo flute.

ROCKIN’ for Christ..He is the ROCK. He is worth every lyric and every song...praise Him.

Movies:

Documentaries, mainly.
Life is an adventure...Christ is LIFE to me.
The Essence of New Mexico:

Taos, New Mexico Scene (photo below)
Pueblo Bonito (photo below) - Doors of an era long gone. Mid 7th century, Chaco Canyon, New Mexico
Taos Pueblo, Taos, New Mexico
Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico - Earth Oven.
My family and I enjoy the diversity that New Mexico offers. We love the Hispanic culture, the Pueblo culture and vibrant Native American culture - Navajo, Hopi, Pueblo, etc., We also enjoy the mountains in the surrounding area of Albuquerque & have a killer panoramic view out our back porch!
Hot Air Capital of the World...awesome sight...to see them hovering over our house in the early AM.
The miraculous stairway at Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, NM. At the end of the Old Santa Fe Trail stands the Loretto Chapel. Inside the Gothic structure is the staircase referred to as miraculous, inexplicable, marvelous and is sometimes called St. Joseph’s Staircase. The stairway confounds architects, engineers and master craftsmen. It makes over two complete 360-degree turns, stands 20’ tall and has no center support. It rests solely on its base and against the choir loft. The risers of the 33 steps are all of the same height. Made of an apparently extinct wood species, it was constructed with only square wooden pegs without glue or nails.

Television:

I have a *like/dislike* attitude in this area!
I'd rather be reading OR traveling.

Books:

"San Miguel Chapel, Santa Fe, New Mexico - The oldest church structure in the U.S. The original adobe walls and altar were built by Tlaxcala Indians from Mexico under the direction of Franciscan Padres, AD 1610"

"B"
is for Book Worm. I rather READ and travel the world. If I can't travel...well, I read of faraway places and enjoy every minute of it. :-)

Faves: Any book by Philip Yancey, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, Ravi Zacharias, Ann Graham Lotz and Sheila Walsh.

Heroes:

~ Jesus Christ, the Promised One...He changed my life!
~ My hubby ~ a kind of love that still amazes me.

~ My teen ~ raising her has been a profound privilege in my life. I've learned a lot about myself thru the process of raising her. Out of all the children in the world...I would pick her to be my child all over again.

~ My paternal grandpa - he was a Navajo US Marine, World War II survivor - serving in Germany & in the Guadalcanal in the Pacific. I miss him. He was my mentor and was a very wise gentleman.

~ All Defenders of our Freedom - many of them are fulfilling their dreams to serve our country by enlisting in the U.S. military. I salute them and their families - their spouses & their children - it is not a easy job...it is a sacrifice. I am thankful for their service and support them wholeheartedly. Past, present and future...
