walking into the light,
never to give in
forever taking flight...
The physical, the mental
the emotional within
strives forever to rob you
so please don't let it win...
There is beauty within you
your a diamond in the rough,
just open your heart
and release all your love...
Forgive all the wrongs
even though it may be hard,
strive to release all your pain
for it's a prison without bars...
Look forward to the future
and let your past be the key
to open your eyes of understanding
and setting yourself free...
Free from the bondage
that shuts down a heart
keeping you captive
from making a new start...
And as fearful as it may seem

Sometimes we look back at our past
and what our life used to be...
We look at our accomplishments
and the things we've overcome,
and we look at it with nothing more
than a glance...
Sometimes we look back at the things
that disappointed us and hurt us
so very deeply and told us
we are unworthy...
Those are the memories that seem to stay
and never leave us,
those are the memories that taunt us
over and over, day after day...
But wait, maybe looking back
isn't what was meant for us...
Maybe we are to look towards the future,
the beauty it holds and what it has to offer...
For how often have we heard
that it is easier to remember the negative
than it is the positive...
Maybe the past is there
just to remind us and teach us
of where we've been,
but not where we want to go
and definitely not where we want to be...
So maybe it's time to look ahead
let our past become our stepping stones...

"OUR GREATEST CALLING"
Sometimes we go through our lives
never understanding or never knowing
what our true purpose is, in this life...
We wonder aimlessly, always searching,
always grasping for something that seems
so far out of reach, so unattainable...
Yet, if we listen carefully
to the whispers within our hearts
and we truly listen, we will hear...
We will hear a voice calling to us and telling us
what it is, that we are to do in this life...
Many times we believe it has to be
something so grandeur, that we fail to see
our true and divine calling...
We fail to see the simplicity or
the beauty of what it truly may be...
It could be a simple as
telling others "I love you!"
Or raising our children
to become caring, loving people...
It could be nurturing the people we love
and standing by them in times of need...
It could be helping that other person
who has nothing, nor no one...
It could be listening to that elderly person
who has no one to listen to them,
so they can tell their stories about when
they were able to climb mountains...
There truly are so many simple things
that we can do to make this world
a better place, a loving place...
You see, the greatest calling
we will ever receive in this life
is to let everyone know
just how much they are
a special child of God...
To let them know that they are divine
and worthy of love...
Of course, some callings are on a
greater scale than others,
and some calling may be somewhat
different than others
but, there is one that each
and everyone of us has received,
and it truly is
the greatest calling of all...
IT IS THE CALLING TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER...

Life is difficult sometimes oh yes!
Yet we must strive to pass lifes tests...
Yes, we must strive to overcome
to rise above and live as ONE...
Somedays we wonder if we can cope
yet, the strength of others give us hope...
A smile can always brighten a day
love and kindness leads the way...
How wonderful it is to think positive thoughts
encouraging others who have somehow got lost...
Reaching out to someone of need
forgetting about gain, letting go of the greed...
How devastating the picture of a starving child
can we give up a meal to give them a smile...
If we strive to show compassion to those in pain
we let them know they can endure & dance through the rain...
If we lend a helping hand to those who are weak
we spread the love of God being humble and meek...
When the aged have fallen they need to know they belong
sharing your time can make them feel strong...
And the one who is handicapped oh! they give us so much
about hope & forgiveness, the purest of love...
I can only imagine what this world would be like
if we would love one another & give up this fight...
Oh, how precious the sight of this special little girl
believing in love and changing the world...

Poem about homelessness
"GOD BLESS YOU AMEN"
As I looked in her eyes
I could see the emptiness in her soul
I could see the stains from her cheek
for a child she looked old...
As I bent down to ask her
if she's trembling because she's cold
she pulled her knees to her chest
and asked "Why do you want to know?"
My own tears overwhelmed me
cuz I could feel all her pain
and when she looked in my eyes
it was I who felt ashamed...
I was ashamed of my own blindness
for yesterday I passed her by
caught up in my own world
without even blinking an eye...
I told her I didn't have much
but from the rain I'd take her in
she said "Really do you mean it?!"
and then said "God bless you, amen..."

I would love to share with you my journey, my pain, my energy, my hope, my faith and my love with everyone who has felt pain... Ones who have felt they could not overcome it because they weren't strong enough, or didn't know how, and those who have overcome because they hold such great insight... Especially those who live in Chronic pain for their journey is greater... PAIN COMES IN MANY FORMS: PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL ETC... If you read my "about me" section you will see that I have lived in physical pain for over 10 yrs but beyond that I spent 40+ yrs just trying to find myself, understand who I am and what my purpose is... In that time I confess I made so many mistakes yet now I can say they have become the most valuable learning experiences of my life... As you know, life is a journey with many twists & turns yet we have to keep striving to rise above it, and ourselves throughout it all... Pain is devastating, and it affects ever aspect of your life, but there truly is a light if you will believe and have faith... It was through all of mine God blessed me with a voice and I write inspirational poetry that will hopefully give people a sense of peace and comfort, even if only for a moment throughout their day...My writings are my gift to you... ABOUT ME: First of all, I want to say one thing... THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE I HAVE MET IN MY LIFE ARE THE ONES WHO HAVE FACED MANY TRIALS AND HAVE LIVED WITH CHRONIC PAIN WHETHER PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL OR A COMBINATION OF SUCH... THE BEAUTY AND DEPTH WITHIN THEM IS DEEPER THAN WHAT THE HUMAN EYE CAN SEE... AND PLEASE ALWAYS REMEMBER IT IS NOT THE PAIN THAT DEFINES YOU, IT IS YOUR HEART... I have faced many many trials in my lifetime and had been fighting to find self worth since the age of 5, I truly believe a person can face the most horrific of situations in their life, and still find strength, faith, love and hope while enduring it all... They can find the light and beauty that lives within them... It isn't an easy journey, but it is a journey that can teach you many things, if you will allow yourself to learn and grow... My writings are proof of it... Living in pain is a journey within itself. Every single day can be a challenge yet, every single day we must strive to live beyond it... For many years I myself could not accept the word "limitations" especially physically, I fought it constantly because I had always been a very physically active person, yet in doing that I found I was only fighting myself and adding more limitations to myself mentally and emotionally... Now, I am finally learning to embrace it and use it... It is through this journey I have found and embraced a deeper understanding of life, compassion, others and myself... Many days I wake up and tell my pain "Today you are not going to rob me, because today I AM THE POWER!" Somedays it works, some it doesn't but I still say it every morning... Sometimes people who live in pain find it difficult to remember their "Self Worth" and often at times feel so alone, but let me remind you if you have forgotten... YOU ARE STRONG, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND YOU ARE OF GREAT WORTH... After years of questioning myself and my purpose, I finally came to the understanding, that maybe I was destined to go through this journey in order to truly help others... Maybe God felt that I was strong enough to go through it and find a voice to encourage and inspire others with the same challenges... The one thing I do know for sure, is when you take time to reach out to others, you not only help them, but many times end up helping yourself in ways you thought were impossible and it truly is the greatest way to live beyond your pain... It gives you a wonderful sense of hope and self worth. Reaching out can touch the lives and hearts of so many people. Today in this world there is too much suffering on so many levels... Many times we believe that one person cannot change anything... But, they can... You can... I pray we all come to a greater understanding and open our eyes so that those who live with suffering or pain of any kind can find hope and compassion... Hope & Compassion is the greatest gift we can give anybody... So it is my sincere prayer that those who visit my page will find a true sense of PEACE, LOVE & HOPE in whatever circumstances they are facing in their lives and that they know someone truly understands... And people who live in Chronic Pain their journey is very difficult, the trials they face everyday, and the feeling of loneliness, physical pain interferes with daily living and many times takes away self worth... Yet, to me it is truly amazing what they have to offer the world... My hope is that people will come to a greater understanding that even if they don't look sick on the outside they will strive to be compassionate and understanding... People in pain are a gift to all of us to open our eyes beyond what the human eye sees... And for all of you who live in Chronic Pain my heart and my life is always open to you... Understand that there is great beauty and wisdom within you for the journey you have had to bear... You are a gift to the world... I love you all...

For years I had no idea how to break the cycle of negative thinking because for so many years that is all I heard yet, through the beauty and friendship of others I slowly began to learn how to CHALLENGE my doubts and fears, RELEASE and LET GO of NEGATIVE thoughts and RENEW the process of it all with POSITIVE THINKING... I learned to LOVE MYSELF and EMBRACE all of the pain I had endured...
I learned to have FAITH and BELIEVE that I had the POWER TO CHANGE MY THINKING, CHANGE MY LIFE... I also learned to LISTEN TO THE SMALL STILL WHISPER WITHIN... The biggest lesson I learned was to have a voice about it and not keep silent, for in staying silent you give the doubts & fear power. I spent 40 years of my life telling myself it was my destiny to be a "victim" and that I could not overcome it... How wrong I was to create that kind of life for myself... WE WERE ALL CREATED TO HAVE A BEAUTIFUL LIFE FILLED WITH JOY, PEACE AND HAPPINESS... But that kind of life doesn't just happen, we have to make it happen... So please my friend strive to CHALLENGE YOUR DOUBTS & FEARS, RELEASE AND LET GO OF YESTERDAY, AND RENEW YOUR THOUGHTS WITH POSITIVE THINKING... REMIND YOURSELF DAILY OF WHO YOU WANT TO BE AND WHAT YOU DESIRE IN YOUR LIFE... Never let the past define who and what you can be NOW & TODAY...
