Darth Horse-Pusher

About Me

I am mainly human.

Most of time is spent on things that interest me, but don't make me money.

My time spent in front of the computer is time that could be spent writing, working on music, or any other thing I can think of.

But here I am, anyway.

I've recently moved from Atlanta to Seattle, because I thought destroying my smooth and simple life for something complicated and unknown would be "cute". Now I have no job and dwell in a world of penniless boredom. Join me.

My exciting websites are as follows:
MediaGauntlet.com - Reviews and articles on all media
SSMODK.com - My personal website and home to my music and writing
MySpace for my music project SSMODK
MySpace for my anti-Scientology music project Christ Implant
MySpace for my ecclectic music project Sorryface

My current listening habits:

My Interests

Industrial music, writing, reading, making music, singing, movies, kittens, the downfall of mankind.

I'd like to meet:

The Big Rusty Lie

The Big Rusty Lie is now available for immediate consumption from a variety of web bookstores worldwide! Please go by, pick up the book, mark some tags, write a review, rate the book, and tell all your friends! Help make one lad's dream of being a famous and rich author come true in a really minor way!

The Big Rusty Lie is available in the US, Canada, the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and anywhere else that can be shipped to from one of those locales. US residents are encouraged to head to ryanspeck.com and click on the links there to purchase from Amazon. I'd do the same for you...

I'm sure some of you will immediately wonder what the hell I write like anyway and are too lazy to actually go read some of my stories or a sample chapter. So I guess I'll sum it up in simple terms... If you like Max Barry, Douglas Adams, and other witty humorists with an absurdist streak, you may very well like me. I'd encourage fans of less-funny fare like Chuck Pahlaniuk and Bret Easton Ellis to give me a try, as I've heard there's some crossover there (and American Psycho is a personal favorite). My style of language has drawn mention of Thomas Pynchon and James Joyce, but I haven't read enough to know. So take all that for what you will...

The Big Rusty Lie is currently available from a variety of web retailers, listed here . (Also click to see a full "description" from the novel's back cover.)

About Me

Ryan has moved from Atlanta to Seattle and now spends his time writing and doing other things when he should be writing. He has stories available online at ryanspeck.com and again soon in print. He enjoys hearing from his readers, so drop him a line through MySpace or his site to tell him what you think. Hopefully someday he can manage to be a brillaint and famous satirist and humorist. Or at least a popular writer. In the meantime, he'd gladly take any work that people will give him.

Ryan enjoys writing prose and the occassional music, maintaining several websites, watching TV, collecting movies, reading, and listening to industrial music. Ryan plays the occassional PC game and thinks console games pretty much suck. As far as writing goes, he draws his inspiration from television, film, and the writing of Max Barry, Michael J. Nelson, Hugh Laurie's The Gun Seller, Douglas Adams, John Hodgman, Neal Stephenson's Snow Crash, and William Shakespeare.
