DAWN ELDER,
Ms. Elder, a composer, pianist, music producer, and artist manger has established an International reputation as a music/film/media entertainment Producer, Artist Manager, Special Event Director and Public Relations and Marketing coordinator for more than 20 years.Elder has produced over a thousand events, concerts and network specials and has worked with some of the most renowned artists in the entertainment industry over the last 20 years including the Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Paul Mc Cartney, Grover Washington, Sting, Santana, King Sunny Ade, Fela Kuti, Tito Puente, Larry Carlton, Gato Barbieri, Wynton Marsailes, Branford Marsailis, Woody Harrelson, Michael Sembello, the Bridge, George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic All stars to name a few.Elder has also produced numerous documentaries, special broadcast coverage, and concert specials for major networks such as ABC, KEYT, NBC, PBS, LBC, ART, and ANA/MBC, special news/community services features for ABC, NBC, CBS, KCOY, and developed some of the largest cultural festivals and Expositions in the country, such as IFF (INTERNATIONAL FRIENDSHIP FESTIVALS), TEAM EXPO (Teaching Entertainment, Arts, and Music) , International Woman Conference, PROJECT TEACH TOMORROW TEACHERS(BEACH BOYS), Rock n Kick Extravaganza, Santa Barbara Fiesta Days, Old Spanish Days, SB Summer Jazz Festival, P.A.T.H.E.S. ( Preservation of Artistic, Traditional Heritage Entertainment Society), AMAL Awards (Arab American Music, Arts, and Literary Awards), more recently PEACE THROUGH MUSIC, DESERT ROSES & ARABIAN RHYTHMS, DEBKA FOR PEACE, RIVER OF SONG LIGHT OF THE EAST.
Elder also manages/represents/produces music and arranges tours for some of the most highly regarded artists on the International world music scene today including BBC World Music winners, from Iraq/ Kadim(Kazem Al Sahir), Algeria/ France,/Khaled (Cheb Khaled), Cheb I Sabbah, Cheb Mami, Grammy Nominated from Palestine Simon Shaheen & Qantara, from Lebanon Bassam Saba, Myriad,from Afghanistan, Salar Nader,(Associate relationships with Wadi Safi, Fairuz, Sabah and more), from Tunis, Amina Annabi, from Pakistan Riffat Sultana Salamat Ali Khan, and from Italy Enzo Avitable & The Bottari to name a few.She assisted with the world wide broadcast event held in Rome, Italy, 2004 produced by Quincy Jones, “We Are The Future†where 5 of DE Management artists performed, and collaborations designed by Elder and Jones. And is recognized for such historic recordings and performance collaborations including The legendary diva Sabbah with Stevie Wonder live broadcast, The Father of Nubian/Sudanese music/ the ambassador of Arab music to Africa- The historic reunion and recording of the songs of Mohammed Wardi & the African Birds, Simon Shaheen & Qantara, Blue Flame, We want Peace, featuring Lenny Kravitz, Kadim Al Sahir, and Simon Shaheen. The live concert broadcast collaboration with Kadim Al Sahir and Sarah Brightman from Beirut Lebanon, Khaled at the 2004 Grammy Jam, 2002 World Economic Forum, featuring Hakim, Khaled, and Simon Shaheen with a cast of world stars.., Live in America Two Tenors of Arab Music , featuring Sabbah Fakhri, Wadi Al Safi, and Simon Shaheen. She is currently working on new collaborations recordings with Kadim Al Sahir, Hakim (Latin Grammy Award winner),(Def Jam Recording Artist) Karina Pasian, Jonathan Elias ( Prayer Cycle II), Christian Love, Bassam Saba, KC Porter, Khaled (Cheb Khaled), Riffat Sultana, Cheb I Sabbah, and others. Elder recently produced the first in a series of Music Recording compilations as collectors editions for the Arab American National Museum entitled Love & Compassion, hub wa haneen. And the New Grammy nominated duet with Khaled, Elan Attias, and Carlos Santana, Love to the People. Elder is also writing a new movie, and working on several music scores for a series of films and TV specials for American & Middle Eastern Networks to release in 2007 and 2008. Elder also just completed producing the first ever live music concert featuring all the Legendary musicians and singers of Sudan united on one stage held in Central Park, New York in association with Central Park Summer stage, and the Sudanese Information Center of Los Angeles. This has now become an annual event, and will be part of a larger film documentary on Sudan its artists and its music. Elder has been featured in numerous publications, and TV networks showcasing her work with International and global artists and its great impact of global scoieties creating a better understanding.Dawn’s knowledge, dedication and love for multicultural arts and world music has led her to become the leading producer for this growing genre in the entertainment industry and has been instrumental in bringing these collaboration with western artists to fruition, and the music to the forefront of American Audiences.
