HeroesCon 08 This Weekend! June 20-22, at the Charlotte Convention Center!

About Me

Heroes Aren't Hard To Find was established in 1980 by Shelton Drum. Since then, Heroes has grown into one of the premier comics specialty shops in the country, with a diverse product line, dynamic store layout, and friendly, family-oriented atmosphere. We're also the organizers of the yearly Heroes Convention . Since its inception in 1982, HeroesCon has become widely recognized as the most fun, laid back, family-friendly and comics-centric convention in the industry.

You can find out more about Heroes Aren't Hard To Find and Heroes Convention at our website, www.heroesonline.com . Or for the very latest, check out our HEROESONLINE blog , updated throughout the week with the latest news regarding the store, the convention, or whatever else happens to be on our minds!

My Interests

Comic books! We carry a complete line of new comics, trade paperback collections, graphic novels and more: including mainstream superhero books, independent and small press books, manga, and a comprehensive kids' section. If there's something you're looking for and don't see on our racks, please let us know--we have a robust special order service, and are always looking to stock EVERY comic our customers are looking for!

I'd like to meet:

You! Each summer we organize the Heroes Convention , a three day comic book convention here in Charlotte, North Carolina. Since the first HeroesCon back in 1982, we've earned a reputation as the friendliest, most laid back, fun and family-friendly convention in the country, and with good reason. HeroesCon is about COMICS--we work hard to build the best guest list in the country, and create an atmosphere where fans can interact with the industry's top artists and writers directly. 2008 will feature the 4th year for our Indie Island promotion, a 10,000+ square foot section at the center of Artists Alley, featuring the best and brightest of the indie and small press scene!

Music:

We have a pretty big staff, so our musical tastes are all over the place. In the store itself, we stick to stuff we can play without teaching our younger customers any new words accidentally, including Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Flaming Lips, Loretta Lynn, White Stripes, Replacements, Lucinda Williams, Tom Waits, the Clash, Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Elvis Costello, a little John Coltrane when we're feeling introspective, and some Bonnie Prince Billy when we're downright blue.
