I also maintain a blog featuring folk music reviews, new adds to the station, and life the universe and everything called (and no expense was spared to name my blog) The FolkBlog .
I play a lot of independent music on the Online Folk Festival, and am happy to receive artist submissions. if you want me to play your music, send me a CD. Don't send me an e-mail or message asking me to visit your page or download your mp3. I get so many of those requests that I cannot possibly visit all of them, so unless you are an artist I've already heard of with some buzz in the folk world or on the Folk DJ list, I will not visit your site or download your mp3. I just don't have the time. I can, however, listen to your CD in my car or while at my real job. For more information on how to submit your CD, please visit my submissions guidelines page.
I would also dig it if you would join the Online Folk Festival discussion group on Yahoo, where I'll post station information and such. I hope it becomes a place for folk fans and musicians alike, a place to swap tour schedules, news about what's in the CD players, album reviews and folk community news. To join, go to the group page at http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/onlinefolk/ and click on the Join This Group button. A Yahoo ID will be required. Hope to see you there.
