The first time I saw Jeremy on stage I was struck by how refreshing it was to - for once - see two young singer/songwriters with guitars who did not exhaust you with their worries and whining, but rather expressed the unfiltered joy of playing music.
It may sound strange and unexeptional, but it's actually pretty rare these days.
-Sondre Lerche
"Check out “Make Love Not War” for an appetizer sized sampling of the full course meal that this duo brings into the music world(…)who wouldn’t fall in love with them?
Fans of Sondre Lerche will swoon over Jeremy, and will more than likely get the band name tattooed in unmentionable places.
"-." -Sound-Riot.com
Jeremy consists of Lars Christian Olsen (age 20) and Øivind Hatleskog (age 21). Both born and raised in the Norwegian oil-town Stavanger, the two veloursuited fellows have been deemed for making “excellent folk-pop”.
Mp3 blogs are comparing them to 60s pop bands like the Monkees and Beach Boys, as well as twee-pop bands such as Belle & Sebastian and Kings Of Convenience, and of course Sondre Lerche, who they’ve shared producer with.
Biography
In their brief career of 3 years playing together, Jeremy has already shared stages with great artists such as Sondre Lerche and Thomas Dybdahl, and also many artists both totally awkward and spectacularly great of different shapes and sizes.
When Sondre and guitarist/producer Kato Ã…dland heard them in 2005, they liked it so much that Kato even invited them to Bergen to record a demo with a possibility to make an album.
The result was something they thought was the best they’d done so far. In 2006 Jeremy and the band played the Norwegian equivalent of In The City and SXSW, the By:Larm festival together with acts such as Serena Maneesh and many more, something that meant lots of gigs for the duo.
Last fall they released their EP in Norway, and in January it also reached the stores of Japan where it also received good reviews. Jeremy also signed with US label Hitswitch Records, who released the EP in May.
They are currently recording an album with reknown Norwegian producer HP Gundersen, also known for producing the likes of Sondre Lerche and Ane Brun. A new single "Make Love Not War" from those recording sessions is out now on iTunes.
Jeremy just played In The City in Manchester, UK and are soon done with their album. The craze has just begun, and soon ”everyone” will know that this Jeremy is not a person, but actually a spectacular norwegian pop duo(often seen with a great backing-band) NOT named after the pearl jam song.

Sounds Like: Quotes about the "Make Love, Not War" single:
The title of this gem says it all:
"Make Love, Not War" is a song that's "all about that hippy mentality," from the lyrics (which aren't exactly coded) to the bouncy, Zombies-esque melodies to the faint sitar plucking towards the end.
This is a perfect summer song, whether you're a tree-hugger or not."
-iguessimfloating "

"It has taken a couple of listens for me to get into it but it reminds me of Irene going up against The Tacticians which means thumbs up all round from the pop jury."
-Indie-mp3.co.uk

"When you listen to this track, you once again is tempted to draw some parallels to The Velvet Underground and perhaps even The Beatles (when George wrote the songs); especially around the 2:30 mark.
But the song is also straight-forward and immediately catchy in a way you should be familiar with from the times you've been listening to The Turtles and The Zombies.
And by calling the new single Make Love Not War the band must have known that the 60's comparisons were unavoidable."
-Stytzer

"..they play shiny, beautiful sunshine-pop with uplifting choruses and melodies from another world. Definitely recommended!"
-Eardrums

"...Take some Simon & Garfunkel, add some melancholy a la fellow Norwegians Kings of Convenience, some of the laid back indie jazz of the first Everything But The Girl album (or Tracey Thorn first band The Marine Girls) and throw in a little Young Marble Giants and you have a pretty good idea what Jeremy sound like. (...)I for one am glad of Jeremy's brief peaceful interlude from the hurly burly of the world outside my window, and I'm sure you will be too. "
