It has been said that no one can be all things to everyone. KNOT LIMITED is out to break the rules.
KNOT LIMITED is a Lansing, Michigan based band that performs both original material and cover songs from the modern rock, classic rock, country, pop, and R&B/Soul genres. Each member a veteran player, the group’s combined experience totals nearly 160 years of stage time.
The group’s beginnings trace back to the summer of 2006, when drummer DOUG REED called upon guitarist MIKE WEBSTER, bassist CHRIS GUERRA, and keyboardist KEITH KURTISS to help vocalist/songwriter AMANDA POTTER record her debut CD ’Featuring Amanda Potter’. Doug had taken an interest in Amanda’s music, and wanted to help her promote her songs.
The idea of becoming a working band did not come into play until July of 2007. Positive response to the CD led Amanda towards even more desire to perform her own material. The group she was working with at the time had no interest in her music, so she set about putting together her own band utilizing the musicians that had appeared on the album.
Before any rehearsals could begin, Doug Reed passed away due to complications from diabetes and renal failure. His friendship, leadership, and precision drumming will live on in our hearts and through Amanda’s music. He will always be missed.
The drummer’s position was taken by Lansing native RICK ALICEA, no stranger to the area club scene. After extensive rehearsal, the group made it’s debut in October 2007.
As is with many bands, unfortunate creative and/or personal differences sometimes arise. As of March 2008, RICK ALICEA has made the decision to leave KNOT LIMITED. He has been replaced by ex-BOY’S NITE OUT drummer SCOTT ELLSWORTH.
The band continues to work up new material in an effort to be prepared for any type of musical performance, always striving to stay KNOT LIMITED! Club dates, private parties, weddings, corporate events, county fairs, or concerts, this group was created to "deliver the goods". If you are in need of live entertainment, this is a band to consider.
