About Me

After appearing on the scene in late 2002 it was initially slow going for Essex (UK) based quintet Halomobilo, however, despite problems with securing a permanent line up and consequently a consistent gigging schedule they have always somehow managed to remain within peoples hearts and memories. When you listen to them or get the opportunity to see them live its hardly a surprise that this is the case. Drawing on influences from grunge, rock and metal they have somehow fused this into a colossal wall of sound and yet retained the melody and originality that so many bands seem to lack.

In 2003 they enlisted producer neak who had previously worked with Funeral for a Friend, Hondo McLean and recorded Vero's first demo. these sessions spawned the tracks The Grail, Get Your Gun Off and Reaching Everything and provided the band with the ammunition they needed to secure more gigs and increase their rapidly expanding fan base giving away and sending out CDs at each and every opportunity. A frantic gigging schedule ensued, the results of which led to a support slots with Snow Patrol and Engerica as well as the main support at local festival Chelmerfest at which they received rave reviews from all over. By this time it was clear that the band had a winning formula and were well on their way.

2004 saw several band members move on but the core of the band remained, a simple reshuffle and the drafting in of a new rhythm section saw things take off once more with intense rehearsals and the experimentation with a more alternative sound whilst still retaining the edge that they always had. In September the band recorded Shallow at (once legendary, now sadly defunct) Adelaide Studios and also involved local media whiz Nick Pittom to create video to accompany the track.

A bustling 2005 resulted in the band playing the prestigious TMF festival, hand picked from over 500 other bands!! Sadly after TMF there was another departure from the band but a call to one of the original members saw him rejoin the fray..

Now in 2008 the band are going from strength to strength and has seen not only a return to form but also a return to their original sound but whilst retaining the experimental side they have embraced during their evolution.

Its clear to see when you watch them play that they want to make this work more than anything and when you hear them you just know that theyre going to succeed!!

This is not a tale of triumph over adversity but a glimpse into the future, if you ask any member of the band how to describe their sound theyll tell you theyre a heart felt, commercially acceptable, big sounding rock band

but theyre not, theyre something quite different and exciting, they are Halomobilo.
