About Me

Ever since I was a kid, I've been telling stories. Sometimes to entertain my friends and the kids in the neighborhood and alot of times to my parents and teachers in order to get out of trouble!Luckily, I've been able to use this "skill" in my "grown-up" existance as I now tell stories for a living. =) I've been a movie producer for many years now. Most of my success has been under the tutelege of a director named Roland Emmerich. With him and Dean Devlin, I produced and 2nd unit directed several big budget movies like STARGATE, INDEPENDANCE DAY, THE PATRIOT among others. You can check IMDB for that.About two years ago, I decided to strike out on my own as a director. Sometimes you have to take a couple of steps back before you can take a giant leap forward. Thus, I've directed two tv movies (THE LIBRARIAN w/Noah Wylie and TOUCH THE TOP OF THE WORLD w/ Peter Facinelli) and both have been recieved quite well. TNT is doing part 2 and 3 of THE LIBRARIAN. And so now things look like they are working out as I'm getting set for my return to the big screen this year with two films with more in the works. For all the directors writers, actors and other creative types out there. Keep doing the work! Thats what it's all about. Don't let anyone tell you anything different. And good luck to us all as we all need it in this business whatever level you are at!

My Interests

changes on a daily basis. I guess I'm interested in keeping things fresh. I have recently gotten into photography as well. Below are some of my recent shots with more to come. Layout Created at ...net with LIVE preview!!Layout Created at ...net with LIVE preview!!

I'd like to meet:

people with passion and humor and fellow film lovers. What else really matters?

Music:

all good music except heavy metal. Even if it's good heavy metal. Just not my thing. DMB(although not lately), Coldplay, Postal Service, Grateful Dead, Tenacious D.......

Movies:

too many...but I love the classics like CASABLANCA, LAWRENCE OF ARABIA as well as the STAR WARS flicks and LOTR. And don't forget BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA. Recently saw LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE and loved it as well as THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS. Awesome. Here are some concept art shots of my upcoming flicks.THE ISOBAR RUNWAYSTATIONHONOR AMONG THEIVES This is a shot from the promo I shot a couple of weeks ago. More on this puppy soon!!

Television:

I love LOST. I think HEROES is going to be a cool show too. Love SUNDAY MORNING SHOOT OUT and I think ENTOURAGE is funny sometimes. MEDUIM is well done too. CHECK OUT MY BOYS on TBS. Great Show.

Books:

not enough lately. Mostly scripts. Reading THE LANGUAGE OF GOD right now. The Author was head of the HUMAN GENOME PROJECT. He talks about how science does not conflict with a belief in God (whichever one you choose). In fact, it enhances it. It's all about melding reason with revelation. It's about belief and it is fascinating.

Heroes:

David Lean, Spielberg, Scorcese, Malik, Fellini, Billy Wlder and I'll always be entertained by Sam Raimi. And of course my trailblazing parents! And Emmerich and Devlin my directing and producing mentors respectively.
