In the autumn of the year 2007, the forest of Bruges was shaking hisgrounds…
A new generation of flemmish black metal rising out of the earth with the helpof nature they began to play they’re music with a little mix of folk to make itsound complete.
Tybo and Korneel, the two founders, wanted to play a special type of metal.
Korneel loves the sounds of the Scandinavian folk and Viking metalbands, Tybo was more interested in Flemmish heathen metal.
They combined the idée’s and began the search for other members.
First we’ve found Niels, he already was a advanced guitar-player and joined usimmediately.
After a while we were thinking of getting someone with a folk instrument butwhy take one folk instrument if you can find then instruments on akeyboard.
That’s the point that Kevin joined the band.
After a while westarted to think for a name and everybody agreed that it must be somethingabout the woods.
Tybo was practicing with his grunts and screams when hesuddenly make a verry loud and sharp scream and so we had our name: Yellwood ,but we like to keep it old-flemmish and so you had “Schrywoudâ€.
After awhile we found a 2nd guitar-player named Stijn.
