ARMAND PENA @ The DJ List!
Pacha NYC
From his 2002 white label remix of Lenny Kravitz's "Going My Way - Armand Meets Penton Mix", to his original song Brazilian Drums, which received release reviews such as, It's a Hot Slice of NYC progressive tribal that's getting lots of support from Danny Tenaglia, D.J. Vibe and Trendroid. Big stabs and massive drums pound it out huge!!! His talent was evident! Armand Peña has positioned himself in the underground dance scene not only as a D.J., but as a music composer as well. Extending his releases with Robbie Riveras Juicy Music label, George Morels Groove On label, Star 69 Records, Tweekd Records and his own label, The Rhythm Freak Records, Armand has amassed an impressive array of artistic accomplishments. His track, Watching Me, reached the Top 10 on Beatport.com for the most downloads during the summer of 2004 and two of his tracks have been played on the essential mix on BBC radio one. Considering that music was in his veins at birth, Armands success comes to no surprise.
Armand was exposed to the DJ scene at an early age as he eagerly tagged along with his father (who himself was a D.J.) to gigs; not only to listen and learn, but to contribute with his own unique style. It didnt take long before he grabbed his fathers turntables, attempted his first mix and was bitten for life! Word spread about Armands house sets and soon led to his big break; spinning for the promotional group, Café con Leche, on their branded D.J. tour in Miami in the early 90s, playing alongside N.Y. DJs such as Merrit, Junior O. and Kris Spirit. Armand soon gained exposure throughout the Miami area, playing venues such as The Marlin (with D.J. Tracy Young), Push, Living Room, Shadow Lounge, Liquid, Club Space and Crobar. Now a recognized name, Armand has had the opportunity to spin in great venues worldwide in Ibiza, South America, New York City and San Francisco and currently holds residencies at Nikki Marina, Nikki Beach and Pearl.
Armand receives tremendous support from his friends and house superstars. Among them are Oscar G. and Ralph Falcon Murk, Tom Stephan Superchumbo, Palash, Danny Tenaglia and has been quoted by many. Peter Rauhofer said: Armand Peña is one to watch out forevery mix is a KILLER"! Another big name to come from Miami! I'm addicted! He's no joke...play any of his mixes and see for yourself." Oscar G. quoted: "Armand is one of Miami's most promising up and coming talents...his productions have been a staple in my sets for some time now and this one is an absolute bomb!" and Robbie Rivera has quoted: Armand Peña is up and coming Miami producer with a hot pounding sound. Watch out for him! As Armand continues to grow as an artist, his main focus will be producing, djing and gaining the love and respect of dance music lovers worldwide.
