WHO WE ARE:
Third String Productions is NOT a band.
We put on concerts, help promote local talent, co-manage bands under Restless Management , book tours under The Alpha Agency , help develop artists, book shows for national acts, etc. At one point, we were running a record label as well but we have decided to put our focus on management and show production.
Imagine being a band and only being able to play at bars in unsafe areas with your friends not even able to get in or even being a music fan that has to drive an hour to see ANY bands play. This was the problem facing Plano kids and bands in 2004. Enter the world of Mike Ziemer, a high school student with a love for music. Mike’s friends were in bands that were sick of playing at bars for 20 people they didn’t even know. Finding this to be a serious problem, he decided to book a show in his hometown of Plano at a city facility called the Plano Centre. The success of this show launched Mike Ziemer’s career and introduced DFW to THIRD STRING PRODUCTIONS. Since it’s creation, Third String Productions has done shows with over 100 national bands and over 150 locals. Third String can claim shows in Dallas, Plano, Allen, Richardson, Denton, Fort Worth, Garland and Carrolton. Although primarily remaining in Plano, Third String Productions announced in Fall 2007, their plans to expand all over Texas. The first step taken was Wichita Falls-- another city like Plano where the kids want music but have no regular music venues. Third String has big plans for 2008 and isn’t going to stop with just Texas. Plans are in action to establish shows in Oklahoma and Arizona. What started as one guy trying to help friends grew to “just two dudes” building a local scene, now has become an army of people working together to build a better scene across Texas and now the Southern United States.
Third String Productions has done shows for many notable bands including: My American Heart, The Higher, A Change Of Pace, Allister, MyChildren MyBride, Hit The Lights, Acceptance, The Beautiful Mistake, A Day To Remember, Bowling For Soup, Halifax, and many more.
Third String Productions has put bands in-front of crowds as big as 1500+, 1650+, and 2400+ at times. With plans of expansion, new contacts, more networking, and the help of sponsors, it doesn’t look like Third String Productions will be slowing down anytime soon.
Thanks to anyone and everyone that has ever come to a show, played a show, or supported us in any way. And even more thanks to those that doubt us, put is down, and criticize what we do…you only make us want this more!
BANDS:
If your band is interested in playing one of our shows, approach us in a professional manner. It's hard to take bands seriously with no music, poor spelling, poor grammar, or bands that say things like "yo d00dz h00k us up." We only put the most deserving bands on our shows since we tend to only do one show a month. To play our shows you MUST be able to draw in the areas we put on shows and have a strong work ethic for promoting shows you play for us.
