About Me

Alternative Press Magazine
words by Tim Karan:
Consider the Source play some of the most frenetic arrangements this side of At the Drive-In. RIYL: The Fall of Troy, The Sound of Animals Fighting, Refused
The Daily Texan
words by Tito Belis:
Equal parts delicacy and fury, Consider the Source specializes in heavenly atmospherics played over an amazingly dense hardcore foundation. At their most controlled and synchronized is when the band is at its most threatening. With a penchant for cathartic, churning rhythms played within a highly elastic musical structure, Consider the Source is able to construct some of the most gripping compositions that border on the epic
Soundcheck Magazine
words by Tyler Aune:
In a way, I'm reminded of the furious, urgency of bands like Les Savy Fav, At the Drive-In, or Trail of Dead. Having played together since Super Bowl 2004, the band has had plenty of time to hone their skills and create a sound that we may think we've heard before, but never to this degree. This is a personal statement blasted to the masses from speakers that reach far beyond 11.

words by Brian:
It's clear these dudes are fascinated by both '90s post-hardcore acts and progressive, atmospheric rock riffs, and they blend them pretty well over the course of six songs. Fitting in well with the raw beginnings of a band like Trophy Scars, Consider the Source have laid down a solid foundation from which to build themselves on. For a first release, The Impressionist does precisely what its title implies, and the talented, creative rock tunes lying within should pre-curse something greater.

words by Blake Solomon:
Consider The Source are four seriously creative dudes playing mixtures of post-hardcore and progressive grunge-rock. Like a tamer version of Trophy Scars (vocals-wise), Consider The Source are smart and still plenty energetic. The constantly changing time signatures and jagged guitars of “Brian Wilson Was Emo Before Emo Was Cool” will never put anyone to sleep, especially with Seth Grueneberg’s scratchy vocals coating everything in a haze of disaffectedness. Consider The Source specialize in taking meandering, throatier paths to indie-rock goodness.
