Marc entered the music business running sound for the Southwest Detroit based band WARNING after which he secured the front man position for the band. This experience turned out to be the initial step in the evolution of HELICON. As Marc and the band became more experienced they began to search for a more original sound which led to KID SLEEK, a direct ancestor of HELICON. Although the band was short lived it helped Marc focus on what he needed from his band and that was key to establishing the line up for HELICON. It is amazing that all five original members were able to put the reunion of the year together 23 years later, but at the time all was not well and in 1984 HELICON broke up and Marc pursued his love for music for several more years before returning to it. 1984 saw a new wave project called THE METRO come and go primarily because the rock didn't roll in what seemed like a good idea. As luck has it, Marc met the boys of RAF and hit the bar circuit turning things upside down with a flavor of metal that was before its time. It was 1985 now and the band was playing every major venue in Detroit including Harpos, The Studio Lounge, and The Token Lounge to name a few. This connected Marc with the scene and in 1986 SLATER was formed. SLATER included the members of some of the best talent in Detroit including Gothem City, Scarlet and of course HELICON. It was without a doubt a special band to Marc and its influence would stay with him for years. Success after success followed this seasoned act but as rock bands go its demise followed and Marc entered a new phase of his career in music. Over the years Marc had gained considerable experience in the area of pro-audio and in his free time had engineered many live shows. At this point he threw himself into this work and became a familiar face in the Detroit area as the man behind the sound. He has engineered hundreds of rooms and in the Detroit area played an important role running sound at such venues as Harpos, The Ritz, Chene Park, Hart Plaza, and Cobo Arena. Marc has ran sound for Nazereth, Jeff Beck, Mountain, Ten Years After, Metallica, Wasp, Triumph, Twisted Sister, Tesla, Ted Nugent, Jackyl, Blue Oyster Cult, Jeff Healy, and many more. This gave him valuable experience that led to an offer by Rickey Medlocke to become part of Blackfoot's team as a soundman and one of their road managers. With Blackfoot Marc toured most the United States, Canada and Western Europe.(1988-1992) After years on the road Marc took a much needed rest and went back on stage in 1994 with Cold Kickin'. In 2002 he Fronted Catch 22 for a short lived project. In 2004 he formed and joined the band FULLY LOADED. Which lasted nearly 2 years. Marc is pleased to be back with HELICON and is playing a significant role in developing a sound that preserves the bands heritage but steps up to the present day listener. He has taken it upon himself to establish a work ethic that is infectuous to his band mates, and reminds them repeatedly that "Shits gonna fly if I have to pick it up and throw it in the Fuckin' Air". HELICON'S meteoric rise to reclaim their spot in Detroit's rock scene is evidence that his philosophy is working and he has gained the respect of all the members of HELICON.....
