I'm a guitarist, percussionist, and producer. I play flamenco guitar, steel string, lap steel, electric guitar, bass, djembe, cajon, kora, alimba, and a multitude of other instruments.
I've been playing music most of my life.I got my first guitar at the age of 7 and bongos a couple of years later..but only started taking it seriously in my late teens , early 20s..
I have had a very eclectic musical life...I studied West African guitar with Lamin Jassey and was also in a band with him from '92 til '95 .I travelled to Gambia in '92 and worked with local musicians there.
I studied Flamenco guitar with Raffa Habichuela in 2001 in Granada and also learnt cajon there.
I have done soundtracks for film and animation,solo guitar gigs,multi media events,combining loops with visuals and field recordings from my travels.Accompanying dance is one of my passions and i have a lot of experience working with 5 rhythms and African dance..
My style is a mish mash of all the things i've soaked up over the years, the latin thing is strong in me but equally so is reggae,flamenco,and open tuning folksier stuff with a bit of an Indian/Arabic flavour..
I speak Italian,Spanish and a fair bit of French and try to sing in those languages from time to time....
