Band Members: A good question … Angels Music Club is the latter-day brainchild and head-splitting creation of one Erick — of whom, very probably, you have also never heard. No matter; he is a songwriter, a guitarist, a pretty unique singer and in odd moments calls himself a 'waste theorist' (whatever that might mean; we've never really understood it; or cared). A recalcitrant pair of Macs, reprieved from a Durance Vile imposed at the hands of those cursed Britishers, rounds out the trio. Yes, we know: one musician, three Macs, an oversized and ailing Mercedes and the high, white sound in Erick's head do not a trio make. But we don't care.
Influences: the smell of bacon; the Buddha; a burst-eyed corpse dog by the roadside; the whole Victorian system of nazified zippers, snaps, garters and stiletto heels; Joe Strummer; six large grapefruit, a bottle of chilled Stolichnaya and about two solid … never mind; Neil Gaiman; each other; Jimi Hendrix; various radioactive personages including and especially Marie Curie; the one and only Pienbique; Charles Fort; the stars at night in the summertime above a mysterious and probably haunted French lake somewhere in the Upper Midwest; Frank Miller; the way Phish used to practice which has a name we disremember; Jesse James (the 19th-century criminal, not the mechanic/porn star's boyfriend, and his influence is hidden, subtle & damned pervasive); Hokusai; random electronic faults; Stephen 'The Hairy Potter' Lloyd; the Velvet Underground; the numeral twenty-three; the periodicity of things you wouldn't normally think contained a built-in system of return; Jeffrey Lee Pierce; true crime; Picasso; Owsley; that yellow-matter custard dog we already mentioned; l'Agence France-Presse; the inimitable Max; the Laird of Boleskine; rockets, fireworks, homemade explosives and other fun things; Van Clague Miller, Jr. (actually these last two seem in some way related but we're not sure why); isostatic rebound; Wayne Shorter; the way the sun looks as it rises over Tokyo Bay with all the polluted sky looking so pretty; The Who; the illusory nature of death
