About Me

"With seemingly boundless sonic ingenuity, Eleven Theatres unfolds as a vivid, sensuous document so full of pleasant surprises that it's not hard to imagine the Atomic Bomb Audition sharing a bill with Laurie Anderson, Tortoise, Shellac, or hell, Morrissey." -Nathan Baker, SF Bay Guardian

Hailing out of Oakland, CA, ABA (or The Atomic Bomb Audition if you're not into the whole brevity thing) performs cinematic orchestrations for trio. Instrumentals where surf guitars make way for discordant soundscapes; electronic drones enter civil unions with folk melodies, and doom ascends from the abyss in riff form. To compress this vision, imagine Ennio Morricone leading The Melvins, or if Rod Serling produced the soundtrack to Fantasia. In all, The Atomic Bomb Audition is founded on a love of music with integrity, appreciation for delicate sonorous minutiae, very high volume, frustration with the end of times, and comedy .
Hopefully this foray into the digital land of personas, excessive self-portraits, and papier-mache souls will find the right people and allow us to sucessfully communicate with our friends, old and new. as above, so below.

Sounds Like:

y(x,t) = y0 SINw(t - x/c). _ where y(x,t) is the displacement of particles from the stable position (y0) in the direction of spreading of waves, while x is the displacement of the source of waves, c is the speed of waves, w is the angle speed of the source of waves and x/c is the time that the wave needs to travel the path x. The time of one oscillatory cycle is denoted by t. One single oscillatory cycle per second corresponds to 1 Hz(1/s). All at 343m/s. Played slowly and and then faster. Repeating measures. SF Bay Guardian review of Eleven Theatres
