kareem aka Patrick Stottrop, founder of zhark recordings berlin and ramadan recordings has been pushing heavy armoured track material since 95, he started of as a dj & producer of minimal & detroit techno, in the mid 90s he advanced to a more depraved approach ranging from hard technoid extreme electronica & rhythmic noiz to ultra dark idm (with numerous releases on zhark), in the late 90s he began his digital abuse of hip hop which resulted in his gloomy & cinematic loopconstructions to be found on labels such as k2o & the zhark sublabel ramadan recordings.In both formats his sound focuses on musical confrontation, manipulation & sonic challenge embedded in total darkness. In his view an ideal loop construction consits of: a single back breaking, claustrophobic, self contained motiveAt the moment kareem is focusing on abstract loop science in a futuristic hip hop context, which led him to collaborate with the shadowhuntaz (nongenetic, sabdullah, breaff), digital release release out June 15th on Kitty Yo, Vinyl Release will follow later on RAMADAN REC !
