Akime Smith a.k.a Shadow 2 was born with music in his blood. Growing up in Wilmington, Delaware, Akime would often make Oldies but Goodies mix tapes for his mother on his first cassette deck. It would be here that Akimes love for music and experience with editing would begin. The exposure to these different types of music would bless Akime with an ear for mapping out rich soundscapes and also instill a supernatural power of audibility. But it wouldnt be until he acquired Public Enemys Nations of Millions in 1987, that Akime would become the incredible human musical vortex. It would be with this album that Akime would discover his style which is focused on wordplay. Akimes syllabicate flow is combined with imagination & dark visions and set the tone for his uncanny lyrics.In 1997, Akime would form Brimstone with the internationally known Hip Hop group Shadow Huntaz. While with Shadow Huntaz, Akime would travel to over 30 states including, but not limited to, Nevada, New York, Georgia, Chicago, and California. Not only would Akime travel nationally but he would visit countries overseas, such as, Germany, France, and Holland. Akime stayed in contact with friend and lifetime accomplice Fernando Angel Dust Rivera, and began forming Great Ones Dominate (G.1.D) in 2003. G.1.D proves to be everything Hip Hop needs right now, to regain its place as the noble and honorable art form it once was.
