My biggest inspirations are the early 60's Motown, anything with lot's of rhythm!My influences: Big Band Music, be-bop, acoustic & contemporary jazz, r&b, funk, rock. I grew up listening to Buddy Rich - Gene Krupa (anything I could get my hands-on from my grandma's collection), Miles Davis, Chet Atkins, The Bill Black Combo, The Supremes, James Brown, The Temptations, Smokey Robinson (& most of Motown), The Beatles, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Simon & Garfunkel, Spirit, James Gang, Carol King, Spooky Tooth, Wishbone Ash, Emerson - Lake & Palmer, Led Zepplin (I played drums to that stuff in my house and pissed-off everybody for being so loud!), The Eagles, Joe Walsh, Joe Vitalie, YES, Edgar Winter, Johnny Winter, Steely Dan (my fav!), Chicago, Quincy Jones-Patti Austin, Yellow Jackets, Weather Report, Chick Corea,Tower of Power, Kool & the Gang, Earth-Wind & Fire, Rick James, Roger Troutman & Zapp, Brick, Ohio Players, Average White Band, Lakeside, Atlanta Rhythm Section, and the list goes on!...
