The FOLKTRICIANS started 12 years ago, in our favorite little place, KARA'S PUB, now THE STUDIO...(518 w. Harry, Wichita Ks.) Go there. Dekan was on stage w/his guitar he lovingly named "The Log". He was just starting his set at the open Jam & was playing his song called "HEART".... He touched mine!!! From there we became the best of friends & for certian~ Soul Mates... So did our music. Now to be known as DEKAN & SHAWNA. We moved to Las Vegas in 1999 following our hearts and dreams. We met Amanda our drummer about 3 days after we arrived. She booked Dekan & I @ the "Brewed Awakening" (Sahara & Eastern) go there, for afternoon entertainment on the weekends. Then when we started hosting open Jams around town, she was always there to support us & play her drums. She moved away a few months later and we sort-of lost track. Well, several years later, in the wee hours of the morning our telephone rang. Certian that it had to be bad news @ that hour, I answered w/a worried "hello?". The voice on the other end said, "Hi- is this Shawna?" I replied "Yes". She said, "the Shawna that"s married to Dekan & lives in Las Vegas Nv?" "Yes". She screamed "I Found You!!!". Well now... that is a VERY "Readers Digest" version of the story & some time well tell you more ~ If Ya Wanna Listen. Just show up at the next FOLKSHOW!!!
