THERE’S NOTHING LIKE A GROOVE THAT MAKES YOU SMILE

About Me

Born and raised in the Bronx, New York Eddy was the youngest of 10 brothers and sisters. He grew up surrounded by musicians and music. As a graduate of the Talent Unlimited High School for the Performing Arts in Manhattan, he spent many years playing with various artists in R&B and Latin music, including Desiree Coleman, Sandy Reyes and Freddy Kenton.
In 1990 he moved to Puerto Rico and broke into the music scene there. By 1991 he began playing percussion with the Grammy-winner Olga Tañon, and in 1996 Eddy became Musical Director of Olga's own “Tañon Band”.
His years in Puerto Rico Eddy toured and performed with many popular groups including Sergio George's DLG (Dark Latin Groove), and Grammy-winners such as Elvis Crespo, Lissette Melendez, Ricardo Arjona and Celia Cruz.
In 1998 Eddy co-wrote, produced and recorded his own CD, “Down To Earth”. Its innovative, groundbreaking style fusing Merengue with Hip-Hop and R&B, has yet to be matched.
Today Eddy lives in Mid-Michigan with his family and continues to look for new challenges in performance and producing. Living in Michigan Eddy his played & or recorded with Robert Bradley, Frank Mccomb, Sy Smith, Bryan Rombalski, Michael Doyle's jazz group "Evidence", Conya Doss, Carol Riddick, Scott Baker. You can check out these bands right here on MySpace.
Last but not least, Eddy is working together with Bryan Rombalski, co-producing & arranging Bryan's upcoming CD, to be released in 2008. All pre-production & live percussion is being recorded at Eddy's, Latin Groove Studio. To learn more about getting Eddy on your next recording visit: www.latingroovestudio.com. for details.
