Stuff, but mostly music.
I'd really like to meet Ryan Adams. And hopefully he'll be as cool as when KC met him. But hopefully he won't be f'd up on space cake. Well, at least not until after the show.
Ryan Adams, Whiskeytown, Jeff Buckley, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Who, Rufus Wainwright, Bob Dylan, Cake, Wilco, Built to Spill, Belle and Sebastian (in particular "If You're Feeling Sinister"), The Squares, The Options, Phish, Ween, Tim Buckley, Death Cab for Cutie, Elliott Smith, The Grateful Dead, Weezer (Blue album is #1), Regina Spektor, The Smiths, Phantom Planet, Ben Folds (Five), Guster (Lost and Gone Forever is first pick), The Postal Service, The Replacements, Guided by Voices, The Dismemberment Plan, Frank Sinatra, Revolutionary Side Effects, Martin Sexton, Radiohead, Sufjan Steven, Modest Mouse, Army of Pirates, Challenge Club, Ours, The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Coldplay (Parachutes #1), Damien Jurado, Ani DiFranco, Glen Phillips, John Coltrane, Django Reinhardt, Outkast, Daft Punk, Pete Yorn, Neil Finn, The Strokes, The Doors, Rev. Horton Heat, Stone Temple Pilots, CSNY, The Allman Brothers, Bruce Springsteen, Harry Nilsson, The Kinks, Talking Heads, Brendan Benson, The Weakerthans, Judd and Maggie, Squeeze, Van Morrison, Bonnie Prince Billy, Badly Drawn Boy, Nick Drake, Mark Kozelek, The Flaming Lips, Yo La Tengo, Imogen Heap, Pavement, Brian Wilson (and The Beach Boys too I guess), etc.
Shawshank Redemption, Super Troopers, City of God, Man Bites Dog, So I Married An Axe Murderer, Dumb and Dumber, Pulp Fiction, Amelie, Brokeback Mountain... There's more, but I saved this for last. I'll come back and tell you later.
The Simpsons, Family Guy, The Office, and music channels that actually play videos and/or music (think MTv2). In all honesty I was hooked on the original CSI reruns for a while, but I think it was just a phase. Other than that, tv just rots your brain. Kill your television. Get DVD's.
J.D. Salinger, George Orwell, Jack Kerouac, Ken Kesey, Tim O'Brien, Nathanael West, Kurt Vonnegut, Charles Bukowski, Milan Kundera, Georges Bataille, etc. Female authors suck, not really, I'm just not familiar with many. Carson McCullers is good so far. And I wish I had a Sylvia Plath.
I'm holding on for a hero til the end of the night.
