About Me

A little bit about me:
This is my personal myspace page. I'm not selling anything, unless you want to go buy my band's record, that's fine with me. Otherwise, I Implore you to just hang out for a bit and make yourself comfortable. Grab a glass of wine, milk, Metamucil, whichever one you prefer.
I'm a California (USA) kid in my mid-twenties, born around the San Francisco Bay, occasionally get paid to play the guitar in public, hope to become a professional writer when I grow up (if that ever happens), been writing and performing music for about half my life, love Japanese food, despise most things that actually come out of Los Angeles, grew up listening to old Chicago blues, Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Hip-Hop, listen to everything from Frederic Chopin to Black Flag at this point, and basically just made this page to showcase some of my favorite songs that I've written over the past few years -- intimate, sometimes hinting at beauty over my raspy untrained voice, and undoubtedly very personal.
Coincidentally, these are also tunes that were rejected by my current and previous bands, and I at least felt that they deserved a peaceful death on myspace. So why share them with strangers? Well, I write music to share it with strangers in the first place, and I just couldn't stand to think that these songs would just be forgotten and disappear within a pile of recordings I've collected over the years. So, if you've chosen to be a friend of mine, listen, critique, insult, enjoy...or just post messages about how great my hair looks, whatever floats your boat really.
Thanks for providing an ear or two.

So David Bloomfield Has A Myspace Page

Well, I originally intended this page to be my own way of sending out new material to the rest of the world. I guess the better question should be why I should release random songs on myspace instead...
