I just added this meme to my site to give visitors a better idea of what I believe in and what is important to me as far as religion is concerned...
Pagan/Alternative Belief survey
Your path?:
Eclectic Wiccan/Pagan
Solitary or group practice?:
I am a solitary at this time, and I believe that I will always be primarily a solitary. However, I would love to find a coven to practice with on the major Sabbats.
Do you worship a god/goddess/being?:
Yes. I worship the God and the Goddess as two halves of the same whole. I believe that all divinity stems from the same cosmic source.
If so who?:
My 'main' Goddess and God figures are Pan/Cernunnos and Diana/Artemis. However, I also deeply respect and work with several Hindu deities, including Ganesha.
Herbalism?:
Yes. Herbalism in a Wiccan sense means that you use herbs, flowers and roots in your wok to fulfill your purposes. I have spent a long time studying herbs and their properties, yet there is still a world of knowledge I have yet to learn.
Have more than one God?:
Yes. However, I believe that all Gods and Goddesses are aspects of the same Divinity.
Would you say your beliefs are eclectic?:
Yes, I could say that they are. I have yet to meet another Pagan who works with the Hindu deities as much as I do. And I have definitely picked and chosen what beliefs work for me personally.
Do your beliefs affect how you eat?:
Not a whole lot. I believe that vegetarianism usually comes along with a Wiccan state of mind, however as someone who is chronically ill and diabetic, I need to eat lean meats for protein.
Born into religion or converted?:
Was not really born into a religious family, and I doscovered my path on my own.
If converted when did you start?:
I converted myself, really. I dabbled for a while, years ago, but I began serious study/practice for 4 years now.
Believe in Tarot?:
Absolutely. They are a wonderful tool to get in touch with your inner psyche.
Ghosts:
I do believe that they exist, and I do not necessarily believe that they are malevolent.
Uninvited guests (spirit that followed you, etc):
I don't like to call them uninvited, really. But I do believe that there are spirits, energies and beings in the ether that can play a role in one's life.
Demons?:
Not exactly. I personally do not believe in the Christian Devil, and as most definitions of demons come from Christian mythology, I'd have to say I don't believe in them.
Human energy drainers?:
Absolutely. I have known many psychic vampires in my lifetime and I encourage anyone who knows such a person to get help!
Energy manipulation?:
Absolutely. The manipulation of natural energies is what makes Magick work.
Believe in Otherkin?:
Absolutely.
Are YOU an otherkin?:
Not as such, no.
Therianthropy?:
I don't like to say that anything is impossible.
Candles?:
Everywhere! I collect solid brass candlesticks and such that are made in India. Candles are a little touch of the magickal every day.
Incense?:
Nag Champa, imported from India. Also, a yummy blend called Witch Doctor...
Have more funny smelling herbs in your kitchen than actual food?:
Nope! I do not store my magickal herbs in the kitchen. There is WAY too much heat and moisture in there! Herbs need to be stored in cool dark places, people!
Teas?:
Green, peppermint, apple cinnamon or British blend, please!
Meditation area?:
Imperative.
Books relating to your religion in your home?:
An entire bookshelf of them!
Do you have a magickal name?:
Yes.
What does it mean?:
Well, I prefer to keep my magickal name private, but it has to do with the strength of a particular Goddess and the desire to keep my life on an even keel.
How did you find Wicca/Paganism?:
We found each other, really. I had been a seeker for a long time and a certain book (Scott Cunningham's "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner")caught my eye in the window of a used bookshop I used to frequent.
How long have you been praticing?:
About 4 years now, without interruption.

Do you fear darkly aspected Gods/Goddess, or rather respect them?:
I don't think there is anything to be feared in Them. In order for there to be balance in the universe, there must be a dark and a light. Without the dark, there could be no light. I think that a lot of people make the mistake of focusing on the light rather than delving into the dark and giving it the respect it deserves. I know from personal experience that there is much to be learned from the dark.
