Who I am:
hmmm hopeless romantic..idealistic..more than a little OCD, usually far too sarcastic for my own good...oh and I'm a huge sucker for a guy in uniform...doesn't even really matter which uniform. Military, police...really any of them will do. Although Marine Corps Dress Blues...(*sigh*)... I'm *fiercely* loyal to those I love and will fight for and defend my pack against any odds. Always. I love musical theater, Renn Faire, acting, and costuming. I am a woodland creature and am happiest when I'm in the forest...or sitting on a beach by the ocean. If you don't know what that means, think on it. It will come to you. Oh and I'm also a writer and an actress. I'm complex, what can I say. There's plenty more to me but a girl has to keep some secrets! I love all aspects of the Golden Era but I identify more with the war years in both fashion and interests. I dress vintage or vintage inspired on an almost daily basis (even I have my lazy days) so if you're ever out and about in the Nashville or Atlanta areas and see a gal who looks like she just stepped out of a time machine....it might just be me!
What I do:
Quite simply? I'm an artist. There are very few aspects of the textile and fiber arts that I am not familiar with or havn't worked in. I have extensive experience with Quilt Design and creation, Custom Floral, Native American Beadwork, Porqupine Quillwork, Basketry, Spinning, Scrapbooking, Paper QuilliLng, Lace Making, Machine Embroidery, Native American Dance Regalia and far too much more to name here. I've been sewing since I was 5 and was trained by my mother who holds a degree from Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. I've recently branched into Fashion Design and Costuming. Really the only things I *don't* do at this point are draw (beyond design work and pattern drafting) and paint. I leave that to my Tess.

Music:

I'm a classically trained musician, my instrument is my voice. What? You've known me for years and didn't know I can sing? Well now you do. Took 5 years of voice lessons. My vocal range is Soprano / Alto Belt. As far as what I listen to? Metal, Rock, Country, Jazz, Classical, Opera, pretty much anything except Rap/Hip Hop, and R&B. I can't stand those. They trigger the code phrase in my brain that makes me go postal...and no one can remember my safe word....

Movies:

If you don't know what movie that is, you need to go figure it out and watch it. Immediately. I'm serious. Go!
Harvey, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington, The Goonies. The Princess Bride. For the Boys. Moulin Rouge. The Wizard of Oz. From Here to Eternity. Nearly anything with Carey Grant or Jimmy Stewart..Pirates of the Carribean (all of 'em)..Lord of the Rings Trilogy...Serenity..The Black Dahlia...The Devil Wears Prada...Classic Movies especially those of the Golden Era...Sci-Fi/Fantasy and Star Wars. I mean please...who DOESN'T love Star Wars?

Television:

Battlestar Gallactica, Firefly, Burn Notice, Monk, Psych, NCIS, Raines, Deadliest Catch, Dirty Jobs. Almost anything on the History Channel, the Discovery Channel, Food Network, and Turner Classic Movies.

Books:

Fantasy, Sci-Fi, Mystery, and Noir. Harry Potter. Pretty much anything by Mercedes Lackey, Orson Scott Card...Raymond Fiest, George RR Martin...Stephen Lawhead and a random mix of other things. I'll read almost anything and I have a really bad habit of not putting a book down until I'm finished with it. I've been known to read for 12 hours straight and all night long. I can't put books down. I lose myself in them. If I put them down I have to come back to reality. Sometimes the books are better :)

Heroes:

My husband and his Marines. You have a job that few want and you do it with grace and honor.
NEC METUS DE MORTE
All of our men and women of the Armed Forces, both past and present as well as their families. Those who wait, also serve. Semper Fidelis.
My Tess. Her wisdom, her love and her selfless devotion to her pack make her the best sister in the world. Her acomplisments and her steeled determination have made her my hero. She is the other half of my soul and always will be. I love her more than she'll ever know. This Guy. Heaven only knows why, but I love him. He's one of my 4 and my western harbor. He knows what that means and why he's my hero. God Speed on the next journey my friend. Another year, another deployment. Stay safe and keep to the code...and your promise ;)

Count them. There are seven. If you've known me long enough to know why there are seven then you know why they have a place on my page.

The Raven Forged From Fire

The sunrise this day brought with it the voice of the wolf-star. She woke me from a fitful night, where sleep eluded me and a growing uneasiness warned of something just beyond my reach of vision. Som...
