Talk Hard.

About Me

I'm 17, lived my whole life in one place, I've driven all across the country with my family, but haven't left it in a while. I play guitar and have done since I was 13. I listen to a lot of music, mostly stuff where I can recognize the instrument in use (ie. not so much techno or rap with crap in the background)but not always. I like a lot of mainstream music new and old (yeah, I own and still listen to all my S Club albums)(btw that is classified as relatively new), but I also listen to a lot of great music I find that others don't always have the will to go find.
I pretty much live for music and the people around me.
I love my friends to death. My family is very important to me as well, I am really close with them. If it weren't for these people I would be completly lost in life. I love reading and writing. I mostly read music-related things, but I like a good sci-fi, "young-adult" or biographical book now and then.
I write a lot, but most of it makes little-to-no sense, some of it's poems, some of it's random things that pop into my head and I feel the need to write down. Sometimes the ideas turn into songs, I keep them for ages in case one day an old idea inspires a new one. I still have poems in my pencil case that I wrote in grade 9. I've been told I lack a certain level of sanity. I guess I'm slightly below the accepted level. But hey, I'm still able to hold a relatively normal conversation, so let's hope I don't get locked up too soon. I seem to have a love of typing, cos I'm having trouble stopping and I'm not sure where it's going anymore. I'll give up on this for a while I think.
I'm putting this page under construction, Myspace is being screwy, so are all the code sites, so I'll fix this on my own later. Damn, I had enjoyed the lazy days where I could just hit buttons and make the page nice.

My Interests

Hm..GUITAR, music, hanging out with friends, hanging out with my family (yeah, I actually do enjoy that), I pretty much live on msn..I love to write, although when I need to write the most I tend to hit a dry patch. Lately it's been pretty good though.
I like to write just for the sake of writing, it often turns into poems, occasionally, but rarely, they turn into songs. I need to write more songs with actual words, mostly it's one or the other, lyrics or music, I have a slight lack of focus when I work alone.
Hmm....interests, should probably get back on track, eh? Uh..I used to be completely obsessed with every guy I saw..I'm getting better about that now. Sorta.. Um..I really suck at these, I think I'm gonna give up on this again.

I'd like to meet:

ANYONE!I really don't care who you are, just add me or send me a message/comment. Just people.add me MSN:[email protected] but, if you are going to add me to msn, add me on myspace first so I know who you are, even if only vaguely, k?
Oh, really wouldn't object to meeting..well, actually it's a bunch of dead guys mostly, Joe Strummer, Long John Baldry, Sid Vicious (who wouldn't want to meet him, seriously?).
Um, also I'd like to meet Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Kurt Vonnegut, damn..I actually had a list made up in my head, seems to have escaped me now. Oh well.

Books:

Picking a favourite book...hmm, very hard. I read too much to actually have a favourite, I guess I'll just name the ones I've read recently.
'The Catcher In The Rye' yes I know, everyone reads it, too bad.
'Gingerbread',
'The First Stone,
'Life Is Funny',
'Hard Love',
'A Little Love Song',
'Punk:The Illustrated History Of A Music Revolution',
'I Capture The Castle'
'Timequake' by Kurt Vonnegut
'A Prayer For Owen Meany' by John Irving
'Night' by Elie Wiesel ...I read it for school, but it was an amazing book
'Chronicles' by Bob Dylan, so good, he writes it like a true songwriter, not much insight into his personal life, but it is very interesting from a musical point of view.
'How To Deal' by Sarah Dessen
'No Great Mischief'
Poems On Poetry
The Collected Works Of Edgar Allan Poe
'Violet And Claire' by Francesca Lia Block, some good imagery once the book gets going. Just finished it, thought it was going to be a cheesy paperback, actually quite decent. Nothing too intellectual, for sure, but some nice poetic images.
'Cat's Cradle' by Kurt Vonnegut. LOVE his writing style, he's nuts! Completely insane, but a genious, although, again, I have started to believe that I am living in the book and that everything is true. Even though the book starts off with "EVERYTHING IN THIS BOOK IS A LIE." Ah well, still amazing, I should probably stay away from sci-fi though.
Now I'm reading "Please Kill Me" by Legs McNeil and Gillian McCain. Amazing account of the history of punk music through interview with the people who created it.
Still reading that one^ but the library took it back cos they only have one copy or something.
I'm actually reading Fury's Hour: a (sort of) punk manifesto by Warren Kinsella. His writing is different than most of the punk history books I've read. He was in the federal government, but before that he was a musician. Very well researched, but doesn't come off as too "essay-ish". Actually quite good.
Ive decided to create my booklist here as I've run out of room on my arm.
'I Was Bono's Doppleganger' by Neil McCormick
"I, Shithead' -Joey Keithley
'Passion Is A Fashion' by Pat Gilbert
'So You Wanna Be A Rock & Roll Star' by Jacob Slichter
'On The Road With The Ramones' by Monty Melmick & someone
'Punk The Definitive Record Of A Revolution' by S. Colegrave and C. Sullivan
Any guesses where I hang out in Chapters? There are more books (with a slightly wider subject range) but I dont remember all their names, and I really did need to write those ^^ down cos I DID have to copy them off my arm...

Heroes:

Hm..I well I don't really have any heroes, persay, but I do have qualities in people that I aspire to one day aquire. Anyone who does anything to get where they know they need to be in life. Anyone who writes (songwriters get me the most, but any kind of writing really). Anyone who is brave enough to follow their their heart wherever it takes them.
