Y began gigging in Melbourne in early..06, along the way successfully negotiating packed out supports in most of Melbournes major rock dens, for The Follow, Lost Valentinos, Bluejuice, Paper Scissors, Plastic Palace Alice and waking up a 1500 plus audience at Hamer Hall, Melbourne Arts Centre to kick off "AG Ideas" international design forum, at 7am! (well, you try it!)
Winners of the Triple J Unearthed Pushover competition in early ..07, the band rode the air waves and joined a Festival bill headlined by Silverchair and Something for Kate.
The emblem Y was chosen as a symbol of unification. Mother/Father/Child, Body/Mind/Spirit, Male/Female/Alchemy, Bass/Drums/Guitar, etc etc etc
