The album's title track â€This Little Piggy†is a unsettling tale told in first person about a young girl longing to escape an abusive home; she is held back only by the fear that a younger sister left behind would assume the abuse. Even within her darkest musings, Waters is able to offer rays of hope in her songs that is evident in â€This Little Piggy†as she sings, “I've got a little suitcase full of my dreams. I'm gonna think hard of the person I could be.â€
Each song on the album illustrates Waters’ complex perspective of life in which she exposes through characters and intimate narrative. Yet for each song, the messages she conveys are simple and truthful.
Ending her album's journey with the delicate voice and piano rendition of Paul Simon's â€Slip Slidin' Away was an obvious choice for her album; Waters sings the song as if it was her own.
“This Little Piggy†includes brilliant musical performances by Todd Sickafoose (Ani DiFranco), Stephen Prutsman (Kronos Quartet), Eamon Flynn (Spearhead, Koko Taylor) and Kevin White (Chuck Prophet, Shelby Lynne). Five tracks on the album including the first single â€White Dogs in the Moonlight were mixed by Grammy Award Winning music engineer Joe Chiccarelli (Frank Zappa, U2, Tori Amos). “This Little Piggy†was produced by Michael Winger (Jump Little Children, Tim Bluhm).

Reviews
"Her solid songwriting, filling arrangements, personal and poetic lyrics, memorable melodies, gently addictive hooks, sturdy structures and a voice that's equal parts worn and wonder — have fully gelled together to form a cohesive and satisfying whole.†- Scott D. Lewis, In Music We Trust, January 2007. (Click here for full review.)
"Every track pulls on the heartstrings in one way or another, encouraging you to turn out the lights and close your eyes – not to fall into slumber, but to languish in the exquisite emotions evoked by Waters captivating voice and penetrating lyrics.†- Lesbian Nation, Coming January 2007
"With the other rhythmic elements they reach out and they grab me like invisible hands and pull me into the music. Her voice paints vivid and poetic images in an intimate way -- as if I'm being told secrets just for me." - Frank Gaultier, Touring the Indies (click for full review)
"Waters brings a maturing sound to her third album. Luxuriating in a voice like spun silk draped over bare shoulders. Waters has a voice for every upbeat impulse and downbeat desire from sunrise to sunset.†- Bitch Magazine, Fall 2006
