Budapest Riddim Band is a reggae backing band founded in the fall of 2007. It’s members are top musicians with experience of more than a decade gained in several popular Hungarian reggae-dancehall and other formations.
The band plays instrumental authentic standards, reggae and dancehall riddims similar to Jamaican reggae backing bands – cue orchestras.
It’s aim to provide opportunities for talented reggae singers and mc’s to perform their shows on live music.
Various rhythms and strong dynamic changes featuring the band’s live shows with musical humbleness in order to support the performers in the best possible way.
The musicians have participated with their previous bands on every remarkable Festivals in Hungary (Sziget) as well as in most of the clubs of Budapest. Beside all this, they targeted to step up to the international stage of reggae music.
The members of the team are not just organizing live shows but taking a significant part of spreading the culture of Jamaican music in Hungary as well.
From the fall of 2007 they have been operating a reggae-club on every second Saturday called Dutty Night Club based in After Music Pub in the heart of Budapest. Bands and sound-systems performed in The Club such as: Riddim Colony Acoustic, Kool Runningz Crew, Irie Maffia Soundsystem, High Grade Sound System, Gravefruit Sound, Kingston Cruisers, Nicetime, Tribe of Judah Sound, Selecta Mouse and many more.
According to the above Budapest Riddim Band has not just only it’s own live show of one and a half to two hours to offer, but if it is needed, can pull an all night long fun reggae-party with dj’s (selectors).
The band is operating a recording studio too, in which the singers can make materials of their own songs.
