About Me

One day of february 8 of 1982 at 5 am, in the Paitilla
Hospital was burning the first and last boy of the
Hall-Chen family; the Halls from Scotland and
the Chens from Hong Kong, in Panama city,
Panama. One of the most beautiful cities in the
world.
Jose E. Hall Jr. was looking for the first rythms in
the room of the hospital...but there was no piano
or violins to play so I keep sleeping for 12 hours
the rest of the day. Then I came back to home in
the paradise on earth; Bocas del Toro’s Island,
ubicated at the north west of the country, in
the caribean.
There I learn to surf, cook and listen to the rythm
of the calypso music; one of the world’s most
important caribean music.

10 years later, I moved to Panama city, where
I learn to play the guitar with my father, thanks
to my grandmom that gave this gift to my father
some 45 years ago... who learn from the master
of the flamenco and classical guitar;
Rodrigo Rodriguez, that worked with Enrique Iglesias
in the song "Bailamos"
...Later I made a travel to Amsterdam with my
family to live there that was one of the most
crazy trips, I remember that. But the things wa
s very expensive so we came back to Panama.
Two years later I try to take some violin lessons
in the national symphonic at the Omar Park,
I enter to the summer lessons when I learned the
basics of music like the notes clasifications and
compases. Some weeks later I get happy when
they told me that my violin classes was comming.
But...one day a rain came too heavy and the roof
that was in good conditions but with holes, get wet
the violins of the students and later all the violins
look like a couple of wood with weird forms, so
I get sad for that at the moment.

So I get stand by for another 3 years.

One day my uncle; Raul Houlstan asks me about
my violin classes and then I told him that I don’t
have any violin to practice, so, later he gives me
one of the priceless gifts that I will never forget.
My first violin made in Belgium.
Later I practice with this violin for some years
without any professor or any book so I learn at
the hard way, practicing alone.
I made some concerts with the Bahia Banda Show,
in the school, churches, theatres and activities that
give me the experience to play in public.

Then in 1998 I start the violins classes again in
the National Conservatory ubicated in Albrook,
I learn very important things about the violin and
the correct positions to play with the Professor Ian Rotar
(the first violin in the national symphonic).
One year later I bought one of the most important
adquisitions that I made. I bought my first synthesizer.
Later I learn the basiclike hard disk recording,
sequencing, waveform and BPM speed.
Then I made some small concerts and some works
for singers.

Later I was producing my first disk of 11 tracks that
I worked with DJ Greg, producer of the reggaeton singers;
La Willa Demphra, Aldo Ranks and Comando Tiburon
Others groups that I have worked is Ruleta, with Ismael
Carvajal of Roba Morena and my last production
I worked with the belgian actress and member of the
music group Puchnika; -Charly- Pauline Etienne
in the production of Stars (Congratulations in your introduction
to the Cannes red carpet!)
