A few years ago, Mrs. RisingFilmmakers and I rented a movie called Ghostwatcher. It was the first Microbudget movie we saw, and we were immediately enthralled with the idea that there is a new generation of filmmakers out there, armed with MiniDV cameras and the like, making the feature-length movies they want for whatever money they can beg, borrow, and steal (okay, hopefully not steal). Then came that "On the Lot" TV show, which, for those of you who were spared it, was kind of like American Idol for filmmakers. The show was not great, but there were some talented filmmakers on the show, and that rekindled my interest in new, microbudget, and maverick filmmakers. So, I started this page to do my small part in giving these filmmakers whatever little bit of additional exposure I could.I've now gotten to see a number of the movies on this page, and I am really impressed with the resourcefulness some of these filmmakers have shown in creating something that didn't exist before, fueled primarily with their own wits and determination. Now if I could just figure out how to work myspace and get this lettering to look right.
I still say that "Walking on Sunshine" is a cleverly disguised song about an obsessed woman in denial about the fact that she's been dumped.
