Primates, big cats, raccoons, wolf-hybrid, deer, hippopotamus, and other animals are being kept in primordial cement slabs within a facility that meets the most bare minimum of standards of animal care imposed by the Animal Welfare Act.
Los Animales en el Parque de las Ciencias son forzados a vivir en condiciones de puro cemento y sumamente minimas. Hoy en dia se reconoce que los animales tienen necesidades como todo humano. Es hora de cuidar a los animales en Puerto Rico!!
Pidele al Alcalde Ramon Luis Rivera que ayude a estos animales y que les de las condiciones de vida que merecen y necesitan estos animales! Firma la Peticion y mandale una carta (Mira el Blog).
This supposed zoological park, by the name of El Parque de las Ciencias, Bayamon, Puerto Rico, has animals living in deplorable conditions which by today's standards should not be allowed. The park in which they live generates no money from visitors as it has become "obsolete" and is barely generating money from those who are supposed to be in charge of these animals -- the municipality of the city of Bayamon.
Please join me in asking the major of the city to send these animals to other establishments out of Puerto Rico that are able to take proper care of these animals within naturalized habitats. These animals are living in cages designed in 1986, will they have to remain in these conditions until it is too late? What about the animals that are confiscated by the department of natural resources in PR and forced to live in el Parque de las Ciencias, why should they live their lives out in outdated cement slab jails?
Please Sign the petition and join me in asking the Mayor of the City responsible for this zoo to take action NOW and better the conditions in which these animals are living.If he is unable to do this, ask him to send these animals to places that can.
Instead of building new hotels with casinos in the park where these animals are living, his priority should be to take care of these animals.
