About Me

THE BAND HAVE RELEASED THEIR DEBUT ALBUM. EMAIL US TO GET YOUR COPYDEVIL ON MY SHOULDER IS OUR FIRST ALBUM RELEASED ON THE FLOTSAM AND JETSAM LABEL.It started 2 years ago, I believe. Within the four walls of an Edinburgh studio 5 musicians got together, each with a different musical background, each with a different idea.A fusion of classic rock, folk, ska, punk, jazz and soul was created and Joe Viterbo was born!Joe Viterbo are: Rod, Shomit, Ralph, Moyz, Leeann and LeoIt was mid 2003 when Rod (ex-Newtown Grunts frontman) made a phone call to Shomit, Ralph and Leo with an idea. Within 2 weeks of that call they were altogether in a studio stirring a pot of ideas, sounds and songs that would soon take them to recording their first demo. Prior to the demo the chaps began a search for a female vocalist and Leeann became the fifth member. The decision was made not to gig straight away, but to remain studio bound for as long as it took to bring a range of songs together that would truly represent the band members ideas and musical stylesLater in 2004 JV played their first gig in Edinburgh and referring back to the 'stirring a pot of ideas' bit...well...all the ingredients were there to make a huge pot of the best musical stovies!!JV's music features rock, ska, punk, jazz and soul. Each piece of music is different. Each piece of music is written from past experiences...some good experiences and of course some bad. The music is written for us to relate too, dance too and sing too!Check out their gig page for the next gig. You have to see them. After all, I wouldn't lend my name to them if they weren't worth it!YoursJ.Viterbo
