Sinead Madden started playing from an early age. Throughout her school years she studied both classical piano and violin all the while playing traditional irish music. At the age of eleven she performed her first theatre role as Snow White in her local school production. From then on she became more involved in playing and singing in various creative outlets including musicals and other groups. Taking inspiration from other musicians she composed her first piano piece at the age of fifteen.She moved to Dublin in 1994 and after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1998 music became a full time enjoyment. It was at this time that she began to play with artists such as Jim Mc Cann from the Dubliners and Aoife Ni Fhearraigh.. It was through this that she started working with renowned artist Moya Brennan. Sinead has been working with Moya for the last seven years. She has found herself experiencing some incredible musical journeys. Some of the highlights so far have been playing for Pope John Paul on World Youth Day in Rome to 2.7 million people, playing for the inauguration of President Mary McAleese in Dublin Castle and more recently a trip to Brazil to raise awareness for CBM and the Fundacao Altino Ventura.Other artists she has worked with include the very distinguished Phil Coulter and belfast born singer Peter Corry, Clannad, John Doyle, Liz Carroll, John Williams, Maire Breathnach, Cathie Ryan and Martin O Connor. She also teaches part time in Waltons New School of Music in Dublins city centre. Songwriting has become an integral part of Sinead as a musician and singer. She has co-written two songs with Moya on her latest album release Signature and is currently working on her debut album entitled Butterfly Dream. All twelve songs are co-written with fellow musician Fionan De Barra. This album will be released in 2007. Other compositions include The Whispering Jig, Balance across the Strings, The Forbidden Reel, The Roundabout and a specially comissioned piece called The Sands Of Time.
