About Me

Born in Sacramento, and born to rock... (before the back gave out)... first gigging band at 14, blessed to play in bands with many great players who were far and away my musical superiors, attended the first true rock extravaganza, the Monterey Pop Festival in 1967, got to play shows with some great musicians and bands, Big Brother & the Holding Company, Janis Joplin, Blue Cheer, John Lee Hooker, Freddie King, Link Wray, Joe Perry, Dave Mustaine, etc. Sat on the Fillmore and Winterland floors dozens of times and saw the greatest 4 band shows of all time, including Hendrix, Cream, Miles Davis, Led Zeppelin, etc.. Did all the things hippies did back then. Survived it all with a knowing smile. Played in Walking Flour (recorded as Henzog) and Spider Kelly for 15 years. Moved the entire Spider Kelly family to Southern Cal in 1977, playing every venue in the area and various places throughout the Western US until the mid-80's. Now I have a modest little studio in Orange County and I'm able to still be around, and work with, cool musicians making music, including hundreds of sessions with Scarlet Crush since 1999! Married officially since 1984 to Janet, who I've known since high school and is the perfect girl for me... she's easily amused, (thinks my jokes are funny)... has failing vision, (thinks I'm handsome)... she's understanding, fun, and as loving as a woman can be. We raised two really great sons who turned out awesome, and we now have one granddaughter. She is a blast to be around, loves music and we all have great times just being with each other. Favorite places: Amsterdam and San Francisco, but there's no place like home.
