Zooey Deschanel

Well let's see, my name is Zooey Deschanel. I was born Jan. 17, 1980. I was raised in Los Angeles, California (where I currently reside today.) But it really didn't feel like I really lived there because my family and I moved a lot for my Dad's career. When we finally stayed in one location (which turned out to be LA again) my sister Emily and I found a really good summer camp called The French Woods Festival of the Performing Arts, which was located in NYC. We then pack our bags for the last and final time to travel to NY. After a few short years there, Emily I both dropped out to pursue an acting career.My debur film was in Lawrence Kasdan’s (1999) comedy Mumford. After that, I appeared as Patrick Fugit’s rebellious older sister in Cameron Crowe's semi-autobiographical Almost Famous (2000). My next staring role was in All the Real Girls (2003), as sexually curious 18-year-old virgin who has a life-changing romance with an aimless 22-year-old man (Paul Schneider). For the role, I was voted Best Actress at the Mar del Plata Film Festival and also nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. My next and probably most popular role was in the comedy Elf (2003), opposite Will Ferrell. I then landed the lead role in the film Eulogy (2004). I then almost immediately starred as Trillian in the movie adaptation of Douglas Adams's science fiction series The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (2005).
