At just 18 years old, Scarlett Pomers has an enviable resume. After years of working in film and television, including 3 seasons on Star Trek: Voyager and six seasons playing Reba McEntire's
sassy daughter, Kyra on the hit sitcom REBA, Pomers stretched her talent into the music world. She and her band have played in many of Hollywood's hottest venues including, "The Roxy", "The House of Blues", and the "World-Famous Whiskey A Go-Go."
Her Soulful Rock captures the essence of a young woman growing up. With lyrics that describe the struggle of one's dreams, Scarlett doesn't follow the cliché of a dark, melancholy artist or a giddy optimistic teen. Rather, she reflects a depth and understanding of the human experience with a healthy dose of bitter sweetness.
The talented singer/songwriter is currently writing and recording her first solo album.
"Although I grew up acting, music has become the way for me to express passion, joy, even pain and I just have to put mine out there and hope people are moved by it", states Pomers.
Along with writing and recording, Scarlett is an avid belly dance fan. She's studied Egyptian belly dance and East Indian tribal style for the past five years. She loves to incorporate dance into her live stage show and wows audiences every time with a belly-dance finale performed strictly to drums, including Middle Eastern Doumbeks & the Egyptian Tabla.
In May of 2006 she released a maxi-single EP along with recording artist Jak Paris, called Project Chains. Proceeds from the CD will benefit her charity Arch-Angels and help raise awareness and funds to fight the epidemic of eating disorders.
Scarlett began vocal lessons at age six and received her first guitar for her 13th birthday. A drum set quickly followed. "I've always loved classic Rock and my favorite artist is Stevie Nicks, but I listen to everything from Metallica to Patsy Cline to Pachelbel and it all influences me in some way. I think people would be surprised to know I'm a huge Sarah Brightman fan!"
In her spare time, she studies Shinkendo (Japanese sword-fighting), Archery, & Horse-back riding.
